||# The Skyburst
The Skyburst Event would last for 7 days starting on October 3rd 1992. The Event was characterised by Immense fiery storms circling over the Skies of Kentucky. Drifting scents of brimstone and searing beams of light, spread panic and outright madness upon those that bore witness. Louisville fell to absolute chaos as looting and violence spread aross every street. For the duration of the Skyburst there was not one quiet moment in Louisville with grating gunshots and foul fumes ensuring sleep was a rarity to those that could not flee. Weary and paranoid residents were driven to greater acts of desperation attempting to escape the madness of the City. The rest of Kentucky was more fortunate with pockets of madness being contained and temporary with people being armed well enough to defend themselves.||
||# The Wasting
After the Skyburst settled had dispersed, many began to notice a lingering haziness and minor hallucinations. As time tooks its course, large swathes of the surviving population were completely consumed by this growing madness. Physical changes accompanied the mental ones, with those affected morphing and devolving into packs of feral humanoids. Most areas of Kentucky were reduced to wastelands of abandoned structures by these beasts. Those that yet lived dubbed the affliction "The Wasting".||
