Yea a shotgun, not a pistol. But I think you could take them with an axe and smart movement. If you get the first tier of exhaustion just go walk real far, sit down for a while and go fight again. Also make sure not to get any encumberance penalties cause those increase your stamina exhaustion.

Also if you have a hand axe use it. Way better.

Yea, just make sure you always have fresh zombie "fuel" All you need is a single burning zed.

I grouped them even more, dropped the molotov and got instantly 90 kills
