There are multiple settlements around the map, there is no pvp but there is trade between them, the group I'm in is based outside LV in the abandoned airport.

there is another group who recently disencorperated and formed a new group in the golf corse near Riverside.

There is one smaller group in the forests of muldragh.

And another large settlement in rosewood.

The server settings can make it quite challenging at times, with population set to very high, horde sizes and migrations set to very high, and a few mods that affect zombie migration patterns,
make going solo next to impossible.

But this is perfect for the settlements.
it provides an environment where teamwork is Completely necessary, and where multiple settlements have to work together to achieve something.

Recently there was a team up with Runway and Pheonix to clear a giant horde that had gathered in the Phoenix's old abandoned base.
with 10,000 zombies lurking in the forest there was no hope of clearing the area, so members of the runway stood at the perimeter shooting down the steady stream of zombies that poured from the forest, as the Phoenix members ran in and out of the smashed up buildings, trying to collect as much as possible.

After the people at the perimeter ran out of bullets there was a mad dash back to the cars, and behind us as we drove out we watched as the zombies shambled over to that base claiming it as their own.

The reason this location fell is due to large migrations that occur, so if you clear out a town, get ready for a few thousand zombies to stumble over in a few weeks time.

But yea Project Settelment I'd a fun server to both learn how to play the game and get to find a group to play with
