So basically trying to play with a friend but alternate launching only works for me

friend is tryinf to invite me through steam but it isnt working so

so basically how do i join a steam invite with alternate launch

You could add the server through the favorites tab/internets tab, you're able to fill in IP with password (if there is one) and you can join that way I believe

Friend would have to port forward most likely. just realized OP didn't mention server, that was only MommaBee. nevermind about port forward. that isn't needed for steam invite.
