**The Story Behind This Season: **
It's been 6 months since the events of Season 1 and a year since the outbreak began. The military returned to the zone two months ago in an attempt to reclaim it. They briefly restored parts of the zone to normal life, even bringing back water and power systems. A Naval frigate supported troops on the ground. But, after 3 weeks, several soldiers fell ill, leading to a resurgence of the undead. Alpha 2 in White Rock was overrun. Now, one month has passed since these events, and we are the last survivors in this post-apocalyptic world.
