It all started with an ambitious project, codenamed "Project Elysium." A group of scientists aimed to achieve human immortality by transferring consciousness into artificial bodies. They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, but their creation was a flawed one. The artificial bodies could not contain the vast spectrum of human emotions and consciousness. The result was a catastrophic feedback loop, causing the transferred minds to go mad.
As the world celebrated its newfound immortality, those who underwent the procedure became known as "The Ascended." They exhibited supernatural powers, but their sanity had unraveled. The Ascended's thirst for power and eternal life led them to wage war on the "Mundanes," those who chose to remain human.
The conflict escalated, and a global cataclysm ensued. The world was plunged into chaos, and the cities became battlegrounds. Amid the devastation, a new threat emerged. The Ascended, driven by their madness, found a way to reanimate the dead, turning them into mindless, biomechanical zombies known as "Necroframes."
You are one of the Mundanes, a survivor of the initial onslaught. You've witnessed the fall of society and the rise of the Necroframes. Armed with ancient relics and forbidden technology, you must navigate this dystopian world. Your mission: uncover the truth behind "Project Elysium," stop the madness of The Ascended, and find a way to save humanity from both the undead and those who would forsake their humanity for power.
As you journey through this nightmarish landscape, you'll encounter remnants of civilization, factions vying for control, and mysterious individuals who hold the keys to unraveling the secrets of "Project Elysium."
