ABOUT US:
Dawn of the Dead is a tight-knit Project Zomboid community, we have been going strong since early July 2022.

We have a strong financial backing by the community, allowing the server to continue to be hosted and thus remain a community-ran server. With any major changes decided upon by the community. Our community prides itself on being closely bonded and enjoying the zombie survival experience together.

WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT:

Dawn of the Dead is entirely ran and financially supported by the community. Owners, staff and players alike all chip in to ensure that we can all continue to play and enjoy every moment we spend here.

Our top notch and highly rated Moderation Team ensure that each and every player can enjoy their experience, helping them with the smallest of questions to the biggest of problems; we are ready for any challenge, with a range of tools at our disposal, no problem is too big for us.*

100 Player Server Capacity, maxed at peak hours.
24/7 Uptime, with 6 hour interval restarts for mod updates and to refresh resources.
200+ Mods, including vehicles, QoL improvements and more.
Major mods including the likes of KI5 Vehicles, Brita weapons & armours, SMUI etc.
Skill Journal, save 75% of your skill progress upon death.
Expansive map.
Vanilla-like difficulty, we aren't the hardest server in the world, but we're not the easiest either, we opt for a vanilla like difficulty, zombies are fast shamblers with tweaked behaviour.
Beginners welcome. Our server is filled with veteran players and guides who are prepared to assist those starting new with Zomboid, spawn at our community centre for ensured safety and venture from there. Death is normal, do not be afraid.
Committed and experienced moderation team. Our team are vastly experienced in handling a range of issues and answering any questions you may have.

Very gud server, everyone is friendly, except the zombies, they tore my nuts off
highly recommend since I have been playing for a thousand hours here and its got a certain vibe that I just can't put into words
also, do not, whatever you do, say deez nuts or mention a field of corn, otherwise, there might be unperceived consequences...

Fantastic server with humble beginnings, never a dull moment. Always events going on and opportunities to get involved with other players. Also a great server experience if you're a solo player, plenty to do and collect. Staff team is extremely responsive and the whole community is very welcoming to new and experienced players alike, would really recommend to anyone looking for "the" multiplayer experience

This server is awesome - very friendly support team, very welcoming to players just starting out, high stability and interesting stuff happening on a rather regular basis.

Server strategy feels sensible and the moderators team listen to feedback, so all I all I have never felt like a lab rat being subjected to random experiments. Wohoo!

I've spent well over a month playing there and I don't have a single complaint. Highly recommended, I am already a supporter and plan to remain for the forseeable future.

Server does not have a whitelist, simply jump in via the IP and Port with your own username and password, and you'll be good to go.

I tried the server but not a single car in Riverside already, I assume this is the same for all spawn locations... furniture in houses is mostly destroyed, everything looted, and this is only ~~6 weeks~~ 7 weeks in? lol

Unfortunately thats always the case with spawn towns but once you leave those areas you'll find plenty of vehicles and houses that haven't been cleared of furniture

@dreamy sky thanks, out of curiosity what do you do with the abandoned vehicles on this server? It is written that they don't get unclaimed by the server admin, or ownership transferred, so what happens? Do you delete them?

If they arent moved within a certain amount of time given to the owner then they get unclaimed and the owner receives a strike. We try to avoid abandoned vehicles on the server as it can be hard for new players to find them and its frustrating when everything youre coming across in the street is already claimed.

The community is great, very helpful and lots of silly fun antics. When I first started on the server the starter town was picked clean as they often are with the frequent footfall, but a player kindly gave me a lift to another town. I've since paid the kindness forward and helped other folks get a foothold. I've learned a lot from playing on this server since many are happy to answer questions about the game.
