Good evening y'all!

PZ Masochism is Dawn of the Dead / I am Legend inspired - high difficulty, intelligent / capable zombies. Additional game mechanics are present, so there may be some stuff to learn. This is a realism focused server and great lengths have been gone to to make everything as ignorantly gritty and real as it can be.

Upon joining, you can read the server lore in rules-confirmation (compliant with Knox Lore) and see if it fits your jib. Please understand that very little with how things are set up are subject to change and that despite being a small group, we have successfully navigated this hellscape and are happy to teach you as well.

This is not an easy playstyle. The zombies are faster than you are, sometimes tougher than you are, and capable of all the same agility based movement you are.

Teamwork, foresight, planning and caution are required to survive. Luck, in part, is required to survive. Most players have a bit of a shock starting but adapt to the new playstyle relatively well. This is a heavily modded playstyle with free trait points to start (to make your hero, or zero, or whatever medium you'd like to) and with more traits than you know what to do with - you should be able to make almost anybody in the Exclusion Zone.

VOIP will be required for survival of the group. Further details on the discord. Operators, Planners, and Survival Buffs do well. This is a PERMADEATH experience (for the regular attendees, oriented with the playstyle) in which metagaming is frowned upon quite stringently. Consider it a soft-RP experience, without the theatre - simply speak as if you are your character and the expectation is wholly met.

Whitelisting rules, Discord and Server rules are up on the rules-confirmation channel of the PZ Masochism server. Simply accept to gain the "Freshie" (recruit) role.

Playthroughs are hard-earned, all victories are won: this is how you died. Play and plan earnestly, humbly, and discard your hubris to leave as prosperous a life as one can in the depths of the zed apocalypse.

Playthrough 07 starting soon - see #roll-call on the discord below to be placed with a squad / request a solo start. Groups capped 2-3, will be spawned in seperate communities to mitigate day 0 overlap.

New additions to the roll-call can squad together or join any existing that has room. Intent to start squads on day 0 concurrently, with squads setting their own schedules from that point forward until end of playthrough. Please read the rules-confirmation, to ensure this experience is something that jives, as this is a horror-themed playthrough. Heavily Modded (QoL -> Realism -> Hardmode).

New additions will be re-added to the whitelist and allowed to respond until their 1st full playthrough concludes, and all members are eligible to respawn on their own day 0 (their spawn day) such that each player's story can be allowed to start. Semi-soft-RP with a focus on infragaming over theatrics and the emergent stories each survivor creates.

Dedicated server (Los Angeles based) with a slot cap of 12. See #connection-info for server details, or this posts' parent. Mention myself in the PLAYTHROUGH 07 ROLL CALL to be placed or request placement with an existing squad, or whoever comes in with you, unless you want to (try) starting solo. Friends and friends of friends welcome. This is an admittedly very small group of players, some more regular than others, but one of a good affect and wherein people are encouraged to make friends.

Been awhile since I bumped this. Looking for mature-minded people to come suffer in our mad dash to death. Going to be starting a run on Friday, Knox County with additions. Perma-death gameplay after the first death, unless you opt into the pain. This is intended to be a horror playthrough.
