Ive played on this server as my Main on and off for the past few years, the player base is loyal > because the community is non toxic, helpful, and enjoyable to play with. There are clear rules to keep gameplay fun and fair, while not limiting the freedom of play. It does. You may find our server challenging, but far from impossible.

I strongly recommend finding some other people to play with to learn the game, you can learn a lot from the other members of the server. Riverside has a community center where they help newer players out!

We do have fast reading! Its around 4x-5x as fast. (I know I told you in-game just for others reading, hi!)

We have a few other QOL like very strong refrigeration setting, no rotting crops, snow is water, low generator usage etc. We take the time you play seriously, so we try to minimize the annoying junk in the game so you can focus on the more engaging parts.

Gun mods that we do add will be exactly what you suggested, light additions or small changes to existing firearms. We are reviewing our options, since there is also some people that want the Advanced Trajectory mod.

I find most aspects of the server (both in game and the corresponding discord) to be good. However, I would say there is a good amount of toxicity from some players. As well as implicit bias on the side of moderation and SOME administration for said players. Seems as though certain players are told to accept griefing and theft while some toxic players are able to get spawns of vehicles and items when requested. There also seems to be a ROI system that consistently plays into the hands of the more aggressive and beforementioned toxic players. Most of which is done out of character and does spill into personal insults in the discord or PM. I'm fine with bandits but some of the arguments I've seen are more akin to just downright abusive behavior of a protected/connected group. I think Bobcards is doing a good job and I appreciate how much time is put in for a mostly thankless position.

As @visual spade has mentioned, we do allow robberies during this wipe. If you can't handle PvP or learning how to avoid bandits, this is not the wipe for you.

High playtime on the server does not mean you complain and I instantly change the rules/ban users without evidence. We have specific rules on how robberies work, if you would like them changed we always accept suggestions in our #suggestions channel. We have regularly updated our rules since launch and will continue to do so as required to make the server enjoyable for more players. There are two admins + one mod with lives outside of this working around the clock, the least you can do is actually suggest something so we have your perspective.

Against what @severe onyx has mentioned, we do not spawn items/vehicles for players outside of recorded evidence of a bug/rule breakage causing loss (replays). You can read about it in our rules channel as well as what we define as Griefing. We never provide spawns for a player outside of Event Rewards, Insurance and setting up Community Centers (Public facilities). If you have seen otherwise, please DM me and I will handle it ASAP.

You are correct our current ROE favors aggressive/avoidant players and this is an issue. I am working on an overhaul for this to also categorize bandits who are abusive as in violation of rules. Many players opt to live in less populated areas to avoid these bandits, with those in town needing to be ready to encounter them.
PvP in a game like this is difficult to moderate and balance with low XP settings, I appreciate this feedback and am including it in our new rule draft.

the specific incident I (believe) you are referring to has resulted in a direct rule change, the act itself was skirting the rules and nearly resulted in the user being banned

there was two things they did that are now not allowed, as it was just not right.

#

Injury to a compliant player is now illegal in a robbery, and using vehicles or targeting people in vehicles during robberies is now not allowed.

You are not a baby for being robbed, I'm being a bit short with you since you didn't actually try to tell me about why we should change things before just going off.

You are wrong and lying about "nothing happening to players" who break conduct. When you were robbed on your alt, you attempted to lie to staff and imply that you were a non-biased witness to a new player getting KOS'd outside of the zone. You did this in an attempt to get the user banned, and you were later banned yourself for attempting to mislead staff/intentionally lying to staff. When questioned about this, your excuse was "bro my friend was on my PC" (another lie) leading to you being banned. You had 113 hours playtime within 20 days on our server for an total average of 5.56 hours a day on your main account. You either willingly did not read the rules or disregarded them when they didn't suit you.

No record of you being on our server (at a quick glance) but I hope you genuinely find a way to let us know how we hurt you in so deeply a way as to leave such a mean spirited comment.

I’ll look into this when I get home admins have not engaged in PvP in over a year.

Update 10/8/2023:
Your claims are unfounded and we have no evidence of you ever being on the server/discord with your associated SteamID on discord.

You must have the wrong server, cheated/griefed on another account and got IP banned, or killed another seperate player outside of rules and were banned. This Wipe we have PvP zones in this case to help balance our our RoE.

I can now confirm that our staff has not engaged in PvP with users in over a year, so unless you have some proof, you are lying/wrong. I trust my server/chat logs + my team over random verbally abusive reviewer.

We have banned many users for refusing to read the rules, or lying to staff during investigations. This is usually how it goes.

I don't know who you are, I remember most players usernames.

The machine itself has changed between wipes, but as a community/team we have been around 2 years.
Longest wipe was around 4-5 months.
Day/Night Cycle is 1 hour, as vanilla.
This Map/Wipe is 12 days old.
Wipes are usually done around 2-4 months in. We have no current planned date for the wipe but tend to look at when the grand majority of players want it.

There are ton of abandoned safehouses available for capture. This is a very old wipe, so expect "Last of Us" style conditions and world.
