[EU / PvE] YahRly's Beginner-Friendly Server & Low Mod Count

Hello!

I'm Ellie, and I'm excited to invite anyone looking for a beginner-friendly Project Zomboid server to YahRly's Zomboid Server!

This is a brand new server that we started on March 30th, and we've set it up so that those new to Project Zomboid can enjoy the game without ruining the vanilla feel too much. That's just our opinion though, and the settings we currently have are not set in stone.

Here's a quick overview of what our server is:

1. You can claim five (5) personal vehicles.
2. Join multiple safehouses.
3. Multi-hit is enabled.
4. 2x XP is enabled.
5. Game loot respawns each in-game month.
6. PvP is disabled, the server is only PvE at this time.
7. You can create your own factions, but you must survive for at least 2 days to lead one.
8. Reading time is halved.
9. Admin players are here to support you, not micromanage or interfere with your gameplay.

It goes without saying that anyone is welcome, we are not using a whitelist right now. We only ask that you are a mature, respectful human being who wants to relax (if you even can with PZ?) and create a story for yourself, and occasionally want to bump into a real human being to show off your gun collection or axe-wielding skills.

In terms of rules, there are none set in stone either. As we'll most likely remain small and humble for the foreseeable future, we hope that introducing game rules won't be necessary. Whatever happens though, we're always open to discussing future changes with anyone active in our community at the time. As I said above, we only ask that you're mature and respectful in how you act.

It's been a few days since we started, and I thank the heavens that the power and water supply are seemingly holding up right now. Thank goodness for automation, right? Or maybe someone is still manning the controls. Time will tell.

We've updated the webpage to display the status of the water and electricity and improved the mod list that we've used for the server. Check it out here: https://zomboid.yahrly.com/

We've also had some lovely new survivors join in and help us improve the server. Their knowledge is invaluable, as is yours if you choose to join us!

There haven't been many changes since my first post. We've just gotten a little more organized. The day length on the server is now two hours. This allows you to get more done in the day and have a little more downtime at night. Of course, if you're brave enough, you could venture out.

It appears that the zombie population is calming for now. We've had reports that clearing zombies from infested areas and keeping a close eye does keep them at bay. Again, nothing is as simple as that anymore.

Things can change rapidly, and I really hope that we have some strong-willed survivors on our side when they do.

To anyone thinking about joining us, just know that you're most welcome. We are a beginner-friendly server and hope to support you where possible. If you want to team up and play in our base, just ask! I'd really love it if we could incorporate some roleplay aspects into this server (like newspapers & restoring the power grid), but I'm not going to force it. You are free to interact with myself and other members of the community if you wish, but you are also free to play as a lone survivor without ever interacting with other players.

It's been another interesting day where we've learnt more about our server and what players are interested in.

We've updated our mod-list (https://zomboid.yahrly.com) and you can even adopt kittens now thanks to the Pocket Kittens mod by Orc. All beginners should have a little companion kitty to make them smile.

We'd love it if you joined us, we've made so many friends so far and it's been so nice to set-up our base with survivors!

The power and water are still on, but we don't know how long that will last.

Things are still progressing nicely. I'm so proud of the people who have joined the server; not an unkind soul amongst them. The water pumping station has finally failed, and we're feeling the impact now. But luckily, the rain collectors are keeping us alive and sane. I expect the power won't be too far behind.

I hope that some of you will join us and create your own story.

Wow, it's still so fun to experience Project Zomboid with the people on our server. Every day, a new survivor joins us and makes us laugh or creates a new awesome base.

We're still without power and water, but it's okay. Everyone is managing. It's a fun experience. Promise. Please believe me?

We've had a lot more players than usual lately, so we've added a little bit of extra RAM to the server to keep up with the 20-25 players that we're getting each day now. It's such a good feeling to be able to provide a fun server for people to enjoy this game on. I hope we can do so for a long time to come.

It's been another amazing day; our expectations were exceeded yet again with the number of players joining us on this adventure. I'll never tire of seeing people build up their post-apocalyptic homes, share in a bit of humanity, and have a good time doing so.

We've juggled some of our mods to provide a better experience, and I think we're finally getting the hang of it all. There's nothing I want to do more than provide a fun and enjoyable multiplayer experience to anyone who loves Project Zomboid.

Remember, we're not a PvP server, so there's no risk of losing your loot or life to another player. We like to support new players who are struggling with the game, and we're always happy to assist you if there's a bug or glitch that causes you to lose any progress.

Not much to report today, other than we're still loving every second of providing this server for everyone.

More cold days ahead, but we're surviving nonetheless. There have been strange occurrences with the country's power supply. We've seen it light up our streets for a few moments over the past few days. I wonder if someone is trying to start things back up?

Is it a Christmas miracle (in-game)? Something is happening at the power station, and power is seemingly restored! We don't know how long it'll last, but it is a welcome event during these cold months.
