unless i have it set to toggle i cannot go above walking speed and if i do set it to toggle no matter what i do i cant stop
if i cant get around this im just going to refund as this is supremely frustrating

Can you elaborate on that, you mean that your character itself cannot run?
What happens when you hold shift and walk

the only way i can run is be enabling toggle, holding shift does nothing (i have already swapped to a normal keyboard keybind set up and all in game keybinds are default)
the problem with toggle is that once i use it i cannot untoggle it so im stuck running

Yeah that its, seems like there is nothing wrong with the game or the settings
Try this, go to the game options and try rebinding the Run button to something else
And see if that allows your character to run?

i did this before encountering the issue originally as changing settings is the first thing i do in games though ill give it another shot

That is bizzare.. are you able to Sprint when tapping ALT?
Or is it specifically running that just doesnt work

i have this issue with both sprinting and running

Are you sure your character isnt overencumbered or something like that?
You just start a new game and are incapable of either running or sprinting right?

im doing this in the tutorial right after it teaches you to right click look and walk
i can sprint and run but only if i have toggle enabled
in which case i cannot toggle it off
