It can usually fail if the internet isnt fast enough to download the map
Are you able to join other servers?
yeah i can
Just this specific server that you are unable to? Have you tried joining with a different username in that case?
yeah its a specific
so the server has a vanilla and a heavily modded one
the vanila runs just fine
but the heavily modded one i cant load in
A different username didnt work
Not sure I can suggest much else other than the standard game reinstall tip. Whats your ping to the server?
around 210 ish\
That is quite high, generally the playable range is 0-150
Meaning that might be the cause of the issue, or at least worsen it
Do try reinstalling the game in that case
alright
An update: I tried reinstalling, and still didnt worked
still stuck in downloading map chunks
not sure if firewall does anything
An antivirus can sometimes do something, have any installed?
That one generally causes no issues. You could try going to your User/Zomboid/Saves folder and delete the "Multiplayer" folder there. That should make you redownload the map when logging in
Meaning it can sometimes fix this specific problem, otherwise I cannot really suggest anything else
Hey man been having problems like that on a server I like. Usually happens when player count gets too high and it seems the amount of map data increases with player count (especially if a lot of people make safehouses and store loots on the floor). Making you time out before being able to download the first chunk. Only solution is to find a "local" server to play on. One where u only get 100 ping or less.
Generally the playable ping is 0-150, if you have higher than that then I cannot really help
