#Black screen on existing MP FIX (in game host)

Recently added few mods (compatible with MP & Mid Save) to server and then it suggested to choose spawn location and new character even thou character still well alive, immediately back off (or continue to create) and attempted to load again few times still gotten the same infinite black screen error.
Then tried:

  • Disable all mods on new MP world
  • Reinstall PZ clean (and host again without mods)
  • Resub all Mods
  • Restart / Shutdown Laptop
  • Try loading other Server save (without the newest mods)

All having the same black screen results.
Finally FIX IT by toggle on The CPU turbo (it was in "sport mode" while black screen happening. Used to manually toggle on "turbo mode" before playing games, via MSI Dragon center)

Yeah it sounds BS but it happened. After toggle it ON now loading any save with or without mods no more problems.
My questions, how is that possible? Seems related to CPU clock speed changed and then it suddenly won't work anymore.

Not sure what you are referring to by "CPU Turbo" as this is not a standard Windows function

#

Either way this seems unlikely, do you get the black screen again when you turn it off?

Something like built in CPU overclock tools for MSI laptop

#

It was all good while switch on But remains black screen whether loading old save or tried hosted a new one when it off . That's the weird parts.

I am not familiar with that, the button likely does other things as well?

#

And as said does it break again once you switch it off?

vocal salmon

yeah it just won't let me play no matter what i tried (basically tried all possible solution)

Is your laptop connected to the charger by the way?

#

Since having it run on battery enables some power saving options

vocal salmon
#

Nope. It was connected by AC adapter. Not in battery saving mode.

What other CPU modes are there in that case?

#

Since you mentioned Sport mode

#

Perhaps the issue would be with Sport mode specifcially

Somehow i forgot to switch it to "turbo" before i attempted to played PZ. Lol almost 6 hrs non stop tried to figure out what the problems was it just won't load or unable host a new one even in clean vanilla form without looking at the infinite black screen after creating new character

Unusual, try switching to "Power Options" ?

#

Or keep it at turbo, I am not sure what Sport does

#

But Power Options basically should follow the Windows Power settings

#

Cannot really help if its this software doing something specific to the hardware

#

Maybe if it overclocks a certain way or changes certain graphics settings then it just causes the graphics card to fail to load the display

CPU- Intel Core I7-6820HK @2.7GHz ( "Sport" boost it to 3.2, "Turbo" to 4.0 Adjustable )

Right

Just switching to "Sport" to tried , prompted to create new character again. Back off quit game switch mode and restart PZ to try now.

#

It just load and work while in "turbo" mode. Weird..

#

Is there any special cases before like game stop working after user upgrade their hardware?

flat seal
#

The only case would be if they did not update their graphic drivers

#

I assume you cannot upgrade graphics cards in your laptop though

Not the newest GPU and driver but it still serve me well.. in fact some newer Nvidia driver cause 1 of my screen black out, only fix by revert to older version. (run dual screen setup)

Not sure I can help with that, we generally recommend running the latest drivers for best experience
