These are literally revolutionary to Project Zomboid and will only contribute heavily to their much deserved success. A real buffer so we can play the game in 4k without performance issues? Are you serious?

That right there eliminated so many issues I have with this game and it's performance. An entire lighting overhaul? Seriously? Good god. AND Z Levels for sub levels?! What the actual #$%# is going on over there at Indie Stone?

You guys are KILLING this. I hope you all realize this is essentially the best zombie survival game ever created of all time. I love how much you guys care. It's unreal how much love this game gets. I plan to continue my crusade to recommend this game to everyone! Thank you Indie Stone ♥

I think, from the perspective of the code, it categorizes basement areas as negative levels, but what it's actually doing is teleporting you to an off-map location. I'm guessing kinda like the RV mod. Like the mentioned in the Thursdoid, the code needed 3 things to make this work: ability to quickly stream in chunks, a realistic lighting system, and ability to use negative coordinates.

Probably some time after the first official release of basements. They can use that period to perfect how the game handles underground areas, then when they find it good enough, they're gonna add a, possibly randomized, sewer system under Louisville.

Was reading through the final build 41 full patch list and noticed the new RCON command "checkModsNeedUpdate".

Was wondering what that does exactly? Assuming it wouldn't restart the server, so does it simply give back a boolean response?

Wow, its crazy to see the idea of basements being finally possible - possibility of having proper bunkers, sewer systems, hidden bases for multi, its great - cant wait to see what kind of ideas the modders would bring in this case too.
Also changing the height limit being applied to each chunk separately - besides of possibilities, definitely boost of perfomance as well.

That aside, kind of hoping that if two houses with basements are close enough that you can dig through the ground to connect basements. Imagine having escape tunnels from your main safehouse to a secured building elsewhere.

no no I know that. But I think the only limiting factor to elevation in terrain was the height limit in general, at least I remember that this was one of the main reasons I read somewhere a while ago. So in theory this could mean that terrain elevation is at least possible now to a certain amount
