IF YOU ARE DOWNLOADING JP DOKKAN, USE QOOAPP FOR ANDROID OR SET THE APPLE STORE TO JP AND RE-DOWNLOAD DOKKAN FOR APPLE

We discourage Tier Lists and direct ranking in this discord but, that being said, Using Tier Lists is fine for a new player to get their bearings with cards, just don't treat them like the end all be all of rankings

For why we discourage using tier lists, between defense, attack, utility, Ki accessibility, and category amounts there are too many intangible variables to accurately “rank” units in an unbiased way. Not to mention that a cohesive squad of lower “tier”/F2P units will outperform a ragtag group of high tier units with no synergy. Use units you like, if your unit is your favorite then you can design a team where they get their full potential and it will beat most events in the game.

A. A Good Start

Once loading into Dokkan Battle you're going to be given a different amount of stones depending on WHEN you are currently starting.

As a beginner you should spend your stones on the following

Guaranteed Dokkanfest Step Up Banners (highest priority) (Note, this is NOT a category banner that has 3 30 stone pulls. Those banners are garbage)

Dokkanfest Banners with Step Ups (2nd Highest Priority)

Standard Dokkanfest banners

If you are unsure, please feel free to ask at #360559562912432129 or #316815745310916619 and we will point you to the correct banner

These banners will either give you massive value for your stones or allow you to create a starting team from the banner itself.

We recommend pulling on that banner until you have a full squad of SSR units that can fit under a unit’s Leader Skill (a passive skill that buffs all the units of a certain category/type for your team, this is vital for all squads, and note that friend leader skills ALSO apply to your team).
For how to farm stones, we will move onto the next phase

B. The Level Up Phase
During this portion of your playtime you will be going through Quest Mode in order to farm stones and level up to rank 50. This is where you will get the bulk of your beginner stones and practice finding correct friend leads for your squad/rotations

The correct friend leads for your squad should be either the same as your leader or the Dokkaned (Level 120 with different art) version of your leader

Rotation explanation here:

https://discordapp.com/channels/136358090474913792/705966741263482931/734110422952837161

Use these stones to pull on the main banner that is out until you have either all the units from it you want or enough SSRs to create a full team. Once you have reached level 50 and have enough SSRs to create a full team, you can attempt their dokkan event after investing in their Hidden potential.

The reason you are meant to get to rank 50 is to unlock hidden potential for your units. This is a way to power up your main squad by improving their stats. In order to unlock Hidden Potential, you must

  1. Be rank 50 or above
  2. Clear Stage 2 of An Epic Showdown

Unlock order is 2 3
4 1

#

Once you hit Rank 50, it is then time to Dokkan Awaken your main team! This will be done by defeating their Dokkan events

Note: On the Awakening Tab, you can long press their medals to see which Dokkan event/Stage drops them.

Hidden Potential for your units will be Crit as the main selection, Combo attack (also known as AA) will be the selection if Critical is not available to pick unless specified in this guide

SA Boost > Type Attack > HP Recovery > Type Defense

If you are ABLE to beat the Dokkan event and successfully Dokkan Awaken your team, please move onto section D.

If you are UNABLE to beat the Dokkan event and your units aren’t sufficient for it, even after investing in hidden potential and raising the unit's Super Attack, move onto section C

C. The Goku and Bardock Squad Building

This is a F2P Team that can be farmed and will beat every dokkan event in the game. Use this team to fully dokkan your main team so you can start beating other events. Details on HOW to farm the Bardock Squad can be found in this guide's other sections

It will take 5 weekdays to farm the full Bardock Squad, 100% their full hidden potential, get their Super Attack to 10, and dokkan them. Once that is finished, you will get a LR Bardock Squad to serve as your leader and will be able to begin beating dokkan events

We also highly recommend farming the PHY LR Saiyan Saga Goku from the Bingo Board missions. This Goku is one of, if not the strongest F2P units in the game and can act as a defacto leader for your team. Complete all the missions on the Bingo Board to Dokkan Awaken him to LR!

Note When using the Bardock Squad with LR Bardock as a leader, look for friend units that are PHY SSJ Transforming Vegeta, AGL SSB Vegeta, AGL Bardock, or another LR INT Bardock Squad. These will all provide full leader skills to your team.

D. The Aftermath

#

Once your full main team is dokkaned, you can switch to using that to beat many other events. Now you can farm the limited time F2P units that are available in the Story Tab. You can also farm more stones in Quest mode to pull on whatever banners you want. We recommend farming ALL F2P units from stories since most have a use in a future event. Between Rank Up Rewards, Story Mode Rewards, Dokkan Event Rewards, and Quest Mode Rewards there are over 1000 stones available for a F2P player to farm, which is more than enough to get a well-equipped team to start taking down events with.

When using Kais, make sure to check our farmable SA list to see if a unit has a farmable super attack. If they do, we recommend farming it to save Kais.

Remember, New Units > Dupes in this game, and having a wide box with many teams is better than having a couple very good teams since multiple events need very specific units.

Also look at our F2P Farming resource guide for help on farming specific items

Ginyu and Bardock Squad EZAs

Once you farm out both the Ginyu Force and Bardock Squad teams fully, you will eventually want to complete their EZAs, or their Extreme Z Awakenings. This turns these teams from good new options to being competitive with gacha squads (And for those that have AGL Ginyu, the Ginyu Force becomes one of the best teams in the game). To complete these, you will need ~300 million Zenny, have BOTH the Ginyu Force and Bardock squad fully farmed up, and their EZA event will need to be up. You can then run their respective EZA stage (in the Challenge) tab to obtain the EZA medals and awaken each of the prime members to 140 and SA15. This does not need to be rushed, but should be done at some point.

E. Quick Guides for each event:

Super Battle Road/Extreme Super Battle Road/SBR/ESBR: Full endgame content. Do not expect to complete this without a very good box. Make sure you have a gameplan. Stunning and lowering Attack is high value, as are AoE attacks. High Defense works well in SBR, much less so in ESBR.

Fighting Legend Goku/LGE: Not recommended for newer players with limited boxes. Many stones for category missions, low priority for new players to attempt. Use units that stack their defense on SA (such as AGL LR Gohan or TEQ Tora) or units that stack their defense to unreasonably high values over time (PHY Bergamo, AGL SSJ2 Vegeta EZA).

LVE/LGTE (Vegeta and GT Goku versions of LGE): Much harder than LGE with the same mechanics. Not for new players

Infinite Dragon Ball History/IDBH: See above. Same strategy as LGE

Virtual Dokkan Ultimate Clash/VDUC/Battlefield: Midgame content. Box needs to be very wide but not particularly insane to complete it. Do your best. Use Type Advantage teams. Details of each boss will be in #788054267406712872

Boss Rush: It’s just a string of dokkan events. Any general category team will be able to crush it. Almost free stones for many new players

Extreme Z Battles/EZAs: Each EZA has a different Category Weakness and a set of Type Weaknesses. These will be outlined in either the pins of the questions channel or in #788054267406712872. New players are not expected to be able to complete more than possibly 1 of these consistently. Go as far as you can on each one, since each completed stage gives stones up to level 30.

Pettan Battle: Please see our Pettan Battle

Chain Battle: Will be very hard for new players to get a good score. Please read our Chain Battle Guide and look at #788054267406712872 For up to date chain battle guides

**For all above events, if you require in depth help, post an imgur of your box following this guide's #1 to your correct version’s questions channel and we will make you a team. **

F. Banner Valuation

After you obtain your starting team, you will likely have some stones left over. An overview for the possible banners to spend on are as follows

Dokkanfest Banners: This is exactly what you want. Expand your potential leaders and have a high likelihood of getting good units. The BEST banners for newer players. Higher values of this same banner are Dual Dokkanfest Banners and 3+1 Dokkanfest banners(Where you do three 10 pulls and get a fourth free)
These banners feature limited characters that are only available when featured.

Legendary Banners: These banners are big and flashy but their overall value is VERY low. High risk, high reward. Only pull if you understand most pulls will net you low value. Note that these banners are awful for the first pulls of an account since they generally contain FEW category leader skills. They only feature one (or two) LRs and the rest are just general pool TURs you could get from any banner.

Rising Dragon Carnival/Double Rates: Better value then Legendary Banners but have similar problems, where they are high risk/reward. The best banner when hunting for any non-specific LR (Legendary Rare) overall.

STR/PHY/INT/TEQ/AGL Type Banners: The best banners for hunting a specific general poolLR while having good featured units.

30 Stone Category Banners: These banners have the lowest chance at an LR and a featured pool full of non-Dokkanfest units (which means you can get them at any time). the WORST banners in the game
