GW2 doesnt really demand anything from you or guide you on what you "could" be doing besides the story quests (which pop on on your right side of the screen for expansions)

after the tutorial and a bit of story you can pretty much do whatever you want so it's all about setting your own goals
as for gearing, gw2 is very horizontal-ish progression so you will hit the "bis" or "cap" pretty quick once you get ascended gear

but even with exotic tier (orange), it's pretty viable for most content except probably raids and high end fractals (anything above scale 1-25)

not just pretty viable, its enough for anything other than fractals, and thats only bc u need the infusion slots
