#Cozy MMOs?

for combat focused mmorpgs, osrs and classic wow can be pretty cozy as well
go at your own pace
Osrs you can do almost everything doing any other thing you want
old school runescape
check this discord's RS channel for more info about it #runescape
if you play on Classic Season of Discovery or Classic Hardcore it's time locked to vanilla era (no expansions)
soo there's absolutely no rush to do anything
and everyone playing on either are just about the same
if you're on Cata Classic that sorta keeps progressing
im not sure if there's like a stopping point or if it will move on to Mists of Pandaria
yeah
try osrs as both me and torin recommend, it's pretty chill too
Greetings, adventurer! Rooted in the origin of MMOs, Old School RuneScape is the only ever-lasting, ever-evolving adventure that is shaped by you.Released way back in 2013, Old School RuneScape is RuneScape as you used to know it! Based on the 2007 build of the globally popular open world fantasy MMORPG, Old School is constantly updated with i...
Everyones going to have differing opinions.
if you get into osrs im usually around if you want to play with someone. GL on your search
but Id say WoW retail over classic, but they are both the same sub
ff14 is also a solid choice, and has the first... 3 or so? expansions with $0 cost
Id say play a few honestly
all the games are going to feel different in their own right, even though the genre is the same
solid game as well.
also feel free to go through the list

Are you looking for an MMO(RPG) to play? Well, you're in the right place. One of our awesome community members has compiled a spreadsheet so you can find a game that you might like. It also has easy flags so you can quickly exclude dealbreakers!
If you can't find what you're looking for on the list feel free to ask our community members, but we do ask that you please keep it inside #looking-for-mmo
You're good homie ๐
till you get in game.
questing, and such you'll find a lot of nice folks
but with any genre, theres assholes
get into dungeons, raids, etc you gotta know what you're doing
not even the pvp part. lol. I honestly find the PvP scene in most of those games MORE welcoming than the pve
everyones a god damn elietest when it comes to raids/dungeons/ minmaxing your DPS, etc
but. you wont come across that till later in any of the games
and thas not an mmo specific thing...
go play ranked overwatch
or League
anyways, best of luck finding your mmo home, just def try a few ๐
It's refreshing to see new blood in the genre, and a lot of folks will be overly excited to see a fresh face in their game
There's a lot of people who would give anything to be able to go in brand new like you are, so definitely give a lot of things a try
The spreadsheet is a good place to start
Out of the list you posted, I would definitely recommend Classic WoW or Guild Wars 2
Is it difficult? No. Is the game a bit more obtuse because it's old? Yea, a little.
Retail will guide you along a bit better and has more overall content
I just personally prefer Classic to retail, and find it to be a bit more laid back
No worries
Maybe give Guild Wars 2 a shot first since the base game is free
If it doesn't suck you in then give WoW a try
id say wow retail has a smoother, guided, understood feel
where classic wow is closer to sandbox in its approach
It really depends on what you're wanting to get out of it. If you're looking for a more social experiance, and exploration, and want to see WoW's roots, classic. If you're looking for a far updated visual experience, more varied dungeons, and a truckloads more content, retail.
they both have their pros and cons
for example from an art perspective here's classics plate helmets:
where modern has a far more updated art style
but graphics arent everything of course
I prefer classics quest design, which is much harder to.... quantifiably boil down for comparison
Classic just gives a player a more "this is a giant open world" feeling
but that also means a lot more downtime, as you move around on flight paths
if you want a more detailed answer... I'd say look up some comparison articles
