Did you try GW2? 🙂
Oh no I havent! How casual friendly is it?
Very tbh.. tons of content for casual players! Story and world events. You can also do PvP, WvW and PvE if you fancy that at some point. The gearing is horizontal, so your gear wont be replaced all the time like in WoW. It also mean you can login to game whenever. If you miss a week, month or even a year, you can just continue from the point that you left the game and still be competitive in end-game if you fancy that 🙂
is it easy to get into for the first time?
Yeah, its pretty straight forward imo, and there is also a ton of information on youtube and different gw2 sites if you get confused along the way 🙂
gw2, eso, classic wow (not retail) all work as side games to FF14
gw2 and eso, aside from what was stated above, don't have much end game raiding/high end content compared to FF14 and WoW Retail
soo getting best in slot in gw2 can be had from crafting pink gear (ascended)
and it can stay BiS for years
and the game doesnt demand you to raid eitherway sooo its really great for open world stuff and light pve things
wow classic on the other hand is great as a side game because leveling is a journey
if you dont wanna pay a wow sub for classic. you can try private servers (i recommend turtle wow which is one of the most populated ones)
