I am writing to report a serious billing issue I encountered while using KiloCode AI with the VS Code extension.
After my credit ran out, I topped up $15 and enabled the auto top-up feature. While working, I unexpectedly received another "out of credit" message. Upon checking, I noticed four failed payment attempts of $15 each, totaling $60 USD—despite the initial top-up failing.
This is highly concerning for the following reasons:
Automatic charges should not have proceeded after the first failed attempt. A failed payment should block subsequent transactions until the issue is resolved.
I did not authorize multiple attempts for the same top-up action.
I am unable to change my payment method, which is adding to the problem.
Here in India, $60 is approximately ₹5400 INR, which is an unreasonably high amount for what was supposed to be a $15 top-up.
I also noticed that credit consumption increases significantly when KiloCode is used in debug mode, which I believe should be communicated more transparently.
Given the above, I request the following:
Kindly reverse the unauthorized or failed transactions beyond the first $15.
Please ensure that auto top-up logic is improved to prevent such multiple failures.
Allow users to change or remove payment methods more easily from their account settings.
I am happy to pay the intended $15, but I will not be paying for failed or repeated charges I did not explicitly approve.
Please investigate this on priority and let me know the steps to resolve this issue.
