Maybe you could add a 'Boat' tab in the creator like the already-existing 'Car' tab in the vehicle creator? This tab would include outboard motors, maybe oars? Also, could you add a ballast fuselage into this section (if you choose to add it) to control buoyancy in craft like submarines?

I totally agree.
Although for large boats, what could be great would be to use the drive train system (engine which runs a transmission which is linked to a propeller), the piston engine would be linked with an air intake if the game recognizes that the engine is below water level and wouldn't work...

So make it so the propellers can be linked to the transmission shaft hub

ahh but this discussion naturally progresses into the following: when do we implement recognition of "water tight" areas and real water displacement. This would mean that engines placed inside a boat could still get air because the fuselage itself is displacing the water around the engine. That and allowing us to walk around inside a sub seeing as we have created a "water tight" submersible cavity.

Oooh oooh and THEN since we've created a water tight submersible cavity, that adds to our overall craft buoyancy. So we no longer need buoyant sliders in fuselage menus, just create a hollow cylinder. But then we need some sort of valve that can be placed onto these cylinders to open or close it to control buoyancy. So on and so forth, down the rabbit hole we go
