I’ve been going back and forth on allot of ideas. One of them being giving it a sensor package in the nose so it doesn’t need the plastic speed gauges many dingos have.

I question if I’m changing it too much though,

Anything electronic needs a power source and the dingo doesn’t have an electrical system.

This means it would need a spot for a battery in the nose changing it even further.

#

This would be compounded if I add any sort of electronic gauge or built-in radio.

#

This gives me the question… do I stick with the handheld radio and plastic speed guage and scrap excessive antics?

#

Looking at other builds it seems allot of people add phone mounts and the kits don’t seem to come with the plastic speed gauge standard.

Looking at the 3d model…. What is the top of this nose even made of… it could be formed plastic for all we know….

Looking at actual builds it seems to be

A. foam covered in aircraft skin

B. a big part comprised of pre-formed plastic likely 1/4 of an inch thick.

With the shape, I have a feeling it’s more likely to be B.

This affects how I’m thinking on this.

Either way, there isn’t much material support for adding heavier sensors and gauges. I need to take a lightweight approach.

I wanna be realistic. Hence why I’m digging into the research so deep.

A universal speed indicator and ADI would be nice. Not terribly heavy, mostly plastic.

A battery in the nose could power these without being too taxing.

(Could also add logic that the battery in the nose could die if used for excessively long periods.)
