The patch currently going through Nintendo's review process should fix the crash issue

As for framedrops, are they happening during fights?
Are there any specific areas where it happens?

If you disable hit stop in the effects settings, does it improve?

Yes, during fights. I noticed it mostly when fighting the first boss and while using foresight. I will try to disable the setting for hit stop to see if it helps.

#

Also when trying to learn a cold eye technique on my leaf playthrough I don't seem to have the Ki to dodge when the fight starts. Is this intentional?

Hmm during foresight should not have any frame drops compared to reality

We only have a Switch 1 dev kit to test on so I wonder if there is something with Switch 2 there that is funky.
We were able to play through the game completely on Switch 1 without notable frame drops in fights, but we're unable to test on Switch 2 as getting the dev kit is quite difficult at the moment

Regarding the Nodai master encounter, he removes your resources as part of the challenge. So the behaviour is correct

Maybe I'm seeing the hit stop in effect. I will need to try again later.

#

But the crashing is a definite issue.

#

It very well might that because if it triggers off an enemy hitting another enemy the sudden freeze could be me mistaking it for frame hitching

Yeah, I know even on PC some people feel that way which is why we added the option to turn hit stop off

And yeah agree on the crash being an issue. The first patch should solve that once it gets approved by Nintendo (It has been submitted already, it's just a waiting game)

It does seem to mess up some of my timing so I may need to turn it off too. Glad you guys added the feature to toggle it.

Feels much smoother to me with it off now. Thank you. I was not aware the freeze on hit was an issue and whenever a enemy would take friendly fire it would throw off my timing slightly.

#

My mistake on assuming it was performance related.

Glad to hear it!
No problem 🙂

The new patch should be live now
If you still experience those crashing issues please do let me know!

on latest patch, still experience crashing issue on admiral fight, happen to me 2 times, once during the 3rd phase of fight, once after defeating admiral

#

and regarding performance, on real fight it doesn't have frame drop, but the replay is definitely feel sluggish and laggy

gleaming pewter

Thanks for reporting that!

Are you playing on Switch 1 or Switch 2?

switch 1

#

oh and viewing archive run right after a victory cause crash too, happen to me twice back to back

gleaming pewter
#

We will investigate this
Thank you!

The testing teams played on development kits and didn't report any crashes so it was a bit surprising to hear there are still crashes on the real Switch

Will keep you updated!

So far no crashes after the patch. Beforehand I had crashed once after beating the final boss which sucked but I completed the run and started another without experiencing a crash yet.

This is on the switch 2.

Good to hear that!
Thanks for the update

I was able to play 3 full runs with no crashes on the switch 1 development kit

But seems like retail switch 1 has some issues still to address
