Hey,
I'm fairly new to charting and looking for some support (and I've now found my way to the Discord server).
I've been working on a Bad Omens – Left For Good chart and already got some helpful advice from Emmy-Dell on Custom Forge.
1.)
I've been encountering an issue where Rocksmith seems to ignore the sections I've defined in EOF. I intend to divide the guitar parts into ~4-measure sections (based on feedback), but Rocksmith seems to merge them into 8-measure sections.
In particular, the 4 bars from measures 129–132 I'd like to keep as a separate section, since they act as a transition into the chorus starting at measure 133. I can see the sections in EOF, and they are exported to the .xml file (lines 818–856), but Rocksmith still ignores them. I'm a bit confused.
2.)
I've also been advised to fix the lyrics so they only include apostrophes and sometimes hyphens. However, some lines in the chorus, like:
Why do I stay in the middle?
Why do I say "just a little"?
feel more readable and singable with the question mark and quotation marks included.
Is it okay to keep the lyrics like this, even though EOF shows the warning "At least one lyric has unwanted punctuation"?
I personally prefer the file Left For Good_punctuationSemiFixed.txt, but what would be considered best practice?
PS: Emmy-Dell I hope the ping is okay, since you've already helped me a lot on this particular chart the Custom Forge thread.
Also, if I've overlooked any server guidelines (wrong channel, too many/too few files, etc.), sorry about that. No bad intentions, I'm just still finding my way around here.
