[FINISHED] Of Mice & Men - Bloom

Hello!

I'm looking for approval to take over the existing and abandoned Bloom chart!
All references used for this will be given at the end of the post.

Changes:

• Lead: Added Tremolo in Intro / 1st Part of the Verses / Bridge almost to the end. (using Reverb tried to make it ominous like in the song but tell me what you think!)
• Rhythm: Changes to the "Gojira scrapes" (Real Gojira Scrapes+Ignored)
• Bass: Redone almost everything using a cover as reference and split audio.
• Lyrics: Removed punctuation and reduced the length of some sentences.

so before even actually playing anything a couple things:

A - always try and resolve all the issues the DLC Builder detects first. 99% of the time, it detects valid things and is worth while trying to fix them.

B. bass I'm pretty sure is supposed to be picked

C. sections/phrases are looking a little on the long side

(quickly opening up the file in EOF locally, Choruses could be split up more for sure to be ~4 measures per section/phrase)

Intro too could be split up into 2, new one marked at m.23

use crazy note status to help define new ''blocks'' of chords
(which will also resolve the issues the DLCB is giving)

the last chord in measure 32 for example has way too much sustain currently too - it should stop around the 3rd beat marker.

The start of the the new ''block'' of chords on measure 34 should be marked as Crazy

What that will is trigger the chord box/chord name to show up again and be properly split from the previous chords

should end up looking like so: (not sure if you're using EOF or have migrated to Charter)

could potentially mark the harmonic scrapes to be inside of a handshape - it's what ODLC have done in the past

here's the path in RS+ for Gojira - L'enfant sauvage for example, little hard to see, but is handshaped

similar concept throughout the verses/ pre choruses
Crazy status and reduce some of the sustains to help properly separate the ''blocks of chords''

should end up looking more like this

which will fix the little visual glitches you currently have there in-game too

atm, because there is no crazy status to separate the blocks, at the start of the pre chorus section. the chords don't actually have the blue highlighted bars around the chords to imply how long the chords are held for, which they should

technically wrong FHP here for these A#5s
If you're implying to play them with finger 3, you should move the fhp up on them chords to be fhp11

Though looking at what follows, I would actually maybe consider swapping those to be played with finger 2 and be set at fhp12 - so you're in position already to play the little run on 12E notes?

Verse 4 again a little too long of a section and should be split with a new break at measure 63

Same as before as the other verse feedback I have given about using Crazy Status and using handshapes on the scrapes

(damn game just crashed will be back shortly)

Bridge parts could also be split up a little more too - like the intro, and verse 4+, just throw a new section ~4 from where you currently have them

Again, could be helpful in the final few chords to help break them up into 3 distinct ''blocks'' with crazy status

could be something more like this

Repeat all of the above to Rhythm where applicable

Similar feedback for Bass choruses - they could be broken up a little more section wise

The only other feedback on bass is the 2nd verse FHPs.
You technically don't have to move all the way back down to fhp1 for that and you can stay up at fhp12
There's no fretted notes needing to shift at all during the verse and you're moving back up to fhp12 anyway just before the chorus

Might as well be efficient and just not move at all in this instance 🙂

Ooh, WHEN this is ready to get posted - you'll want to set the new public version to be v.2. Quickly looking at the current version and that is already set at v1.1, and this is gonna be a complete overhaul anyway

And first and this is a must, I want to say a massive thank you for your guidance and feedback! I'll be making the changes right now!
Though, i need a tiny bit of your help on a few things you recommended because I don't know if you have settings that I don't that might make my softwares act weirdly 😅

As such, i tried opening RSBuilder and put, in a new project, all my paths (because i thought the fact that having a saved project may not show me this) and when I put my paths in and tried to validate the arrangements, the guitar paths were valid (the bass i haven't applied the fix, it was a test for the guitars!)

Also, looking into the EOF screenshots, i noticed that mine looked very different than you because the Palm Mute section looks like this in my EOF (I just made the Gojira Scrape a Handshape like you advised)
Which may be why the 0's look the way they look in my chart?

So, if it's not to much, do you think I should add length to the notes to fix that ?

ideally, all chords should have some sustain length defined yes - it just helps properly display the chord box length in game

(also yeah, when we take the chart provided and make our own local EOF projects for them, there are some little discrepancies which occur. sustain lengths usually being one )

because you don't have any sustain length set in yours, or Crazy Note status at the start of the new phrase/section measure 73, it will just auto assume the chords should ring out - when that isn't the case for this song

if you define the sustain lengths in yours, and add the crazy - it will 100% help break things up and act how they should

I don't think there should be any difference between our DLC Builders I believe we are both using the latest versions available and the same settings.

(tbf, DLC Builder aside - the issues I'm getting I would've pointed out anyway even if I didn't get them )
They all relate to the lack of crazy status use

Well, he validate mine, but I was going to follow your advice anyway so i'll look into adding length to my notes and put the crazy status where it needs to be, and come back here with a 2.0 that will be good!

Changes:

• The version has been put as 2.0.
• Lead: Added Handshape to Harmonics / Added Length to Notes + Crazy Status / Changed the FHP in the Chorus for the 13th to 12 and Changed the fingering to finger 2. / Changed the Sections that were previously 8 measures into 4 measures sections.
• Rhythm: Added Handshape to Harmonics / Added Length to Notes + Crazy Status / Changed the FHP in the Chorus for the 13th to 12 and Changed the fingering to finger 2. Changed the Sections that were previously 8 measures into 4 measures sections.
• Bass: Changed FHP to 12 after the first chorus into the 2nd verse / Set the path as Picked.

should be an easy fix though
do a ctrl + A job to select all > then go to Track > Erase > Erase note names

that should reset them so the chord names are set for Drop A

you can press shift + F11 to toggle though some of the display options, there's one for the chords

Ohhh I see, well i've been redoing it from scratch but now that you've showed me this, i know clearly where it comes from, I pasted most of the Lead into the Real Guitar 22 (Rhythm) to avoid having to remake everything as I had already moved some of the measures thinking I would only make the Lead due to the "no-difference" thing

And so I had the tuning set to Standard as i didn't import the GP and only pasted

And I may have clicked No for this even though it's recommended
