Redoing it because I wrote the majority of it in my work break without real effort

  • Any prior staff or moderation experience? (Include game/server, role, and responsibilities)
    No.

  • Have you ever been banned from Monolith? If yes, explain why.
    Never been banned, no remarks.

  • How has your experience been with Monolith staff? Be honest—this helps us improve.
Overall good, when I ahelped something and an admin was online, it was usually swiftly handled. I have one little nitpick: I don't remember what the admin wrote exactly, but it read like they just blindly trusted the other player and just wanted to punish me already. What led to this was the saylogs being funky, I think, however, the first message should always be neutrally formulated.

  • Why do you want to be an admin, and what would you contribute to the team?
I really like Monolith and want to invest my time to help it improve. Besides the normal admin activities, I would like to implement a publicly available banning policy, as there seems to be a lot of confusion and inconsistency (from what I heard as a player at least) regarding ban duration. Once I get comfortable with the admin tools, I'd like to run some minor events. Rules often get broken because a player isn't 100% familiar with them or misinterprets one. Helping players understand the rules is as important as punishing them for breaking them, if not more important.

  • If accepted, is there anything you'd like to change or improve about the current staff team?
Mainly the banning policy I mentioned above. Their individual actions seem reasonable and competent, no change needed.

  • What do you think is key to maintaining a good staff reputation?
First and foremost, communication, from engaging in a casual discussion to Ahelps. You should stand to your word but leave room for discussion and clarification, nobody likes powertripping staff members. You should express yourself somewhat professionally and neutrally when handling something administrative.

  • Either tell a story about a time a player broke the rules, or make one up (could be anything; the more thoughtful, the better). What did you do, or what would you do in that case?
A faction player was killed by their opponents and respawned as a civ, rushing to the site where they died and killing the faction members without a word.
After receiving the Ahelp, I'd ask the civ why he killed the faction members without escalation, while waiting for an answer, I'll check the logs. The player tells me that they were hired by the opposite faction. I'd ask who hired them and ask the person who allegedly hired them (if they say "idk" I'd check the logs of the opposite factions members). As soon as the situation is clear (finding out that the player was killed in faction combat by the ahelping person), I tell the player which rules they broke and issue a three day game ban in case it was a first offense. If it was not, the duration of the ban will depend on prior offenses.

  • Two senior admins are publicly breaking community rules and arguing. The head admin is offline. What do you do?
DM both to stop the public nonsense and DM screenshots to the headmin.

  • You receive an ahelp about a new rogue-role player attacking others without clear reason. No prior notes on them. What are your next steps?
First, I would ask them why they attacked other players with seemingly no reason. I'd check their logs and ask other involved players regarding the events. If the situation is clear, I'd let the player know which rule(s) they broke, warn them, and leave a remark. In case the player was in the right (thinking of rogue as PDV here and the ahelping player as a TSF member), I'd refer to conflict rule one and the lore primer.
