Any prior staff or moderation experience? (Include game/server, role, and responsibilities)
No.

Have you ever been banned from Monolith? If yes, explain why.
Half day ban last month for EORG. Genuinely thought it wouldn't go off, wasn't thinking twice about using CC as a target.

How has your experience been with Monolith staff? Be honest—this helps us improve.
The few times I've interacted with admins were positive and understanding, whether answering a question, ratting out someone, reporting raiders or asking permission for things. Only issue with admins is the response time outside of weekends.

Why do you want to be an admin, and what would you contribute to the team?

  1. I've noticed a pattern with space station admins, which is the second someone becomes an admin they suddenly get other commitments. Following this reason, I think that if I become a monolith admin, i will be able to find a better job that gives me more hours.
I also play monolith and enjoy it, and have a intricate understanding of in game mechanics and for the most part am able to parce out exploits from niche mechanics.

If accepted, is there anything you'd like to change or improve about the current staff team?

apart from response time, there isn't anything specific i would point out.

#

What do you think is key to maintaining a good staff reputation?

being nice, quick to respond and identify said issue and a followup to confirm if the issue is solved, deescilation if the problem is something like metagrudging taken to LOOC or ahelps, transparency (IE not "solved" or "looking into this" after someone gives a detailed complaint) and properly fixing any problems created by bugs if asked to.

Either tell a story about a time a player broke the rules, or make one up (could be anything; the more thoughtful, the better). What did you do, or what would you do in that case?

About a month back I was a gas miner and hired 3 random spacers to teach them atmos. One of them was very obviously a raider, although at the time he played it cool so I didn't realize. Over the course of an hour, he slowly began sabotaging the ship i was on; unwrenching thrusters, messing with pumps and filters, and when one of my crewmembers went SSD, they quietly dismembered them and hid the body. when I confronted them, they shot me and a medical personnel who came asking questions about why I had a dead spacer on board. In dead chat, a few other people were following my shuttle, and after they informed me that he was doing similar things the day before, I ahelped and made a comment in #raider-ping and encouraged the others to do the same. To my knowlege he's been banned.

Two senior admins are publicly breaking community rules and arguing. The head admin is offline. What do you do?

dm them to take it out of public chat, set up a dm group with the two, spam ping then leave, inform the head admin about what happened. If need be, call them chud.

You receive an ahelp about a new rogue-role player attacking others without clear reason. No prior notes on them. What are your next steps?

say if they're PDV and they're attacking other PDV, first check the chatlogs to see if there was a personal grievance or buildup, if it's a two man spat due to metagrudging, smite the agressor and tell them to resolve it elsewhere, give them a note. if actions continue, escalate.
if it's someone on station cannons shooting anyone without IFF despite people screaming in comms, give them a warning, tell them in ahelps to listen to comms and do better at identifying friend or foe. if behavior continues, escalate to a short ban. if they're shooting everyone on station cannons or with a ship, ask their reasoning in ahelp, if they don't have sufficient reason then place a 1 day ban on them, attempt to rectify any standing issues with the victims.
if it's PDV on TSF with a standing truce, ahelp and ask why they are breaking the truce, if they dont have a sufficient reason (IE escalation from the other party or they are new and didn't know what a truce is or if there was) or they lie about having escalation, give them a ban.
if they're just running around killing people from their faction, smite them to stop damage. if they're new and understanding, let them off with a warning, if not ban them and inform the other admins to escalate punishment if they do it again.
if it's a rogue on civ, say someone running around camelot shooting everyone, check if there is a withstanding reason (large merc team using camelot as a base of operations who attacked pdv previously), if not warn them in ahelps they are breaking rules, if they attempt to continue ban them and rectify damage.

player to player i don't have any beef with any players in monolith or in space station so i wouldn't take egregious actions against anyone because i dislike them. for friends i'm not willing to smack them if they fuck up.

#

I also would probably work closely with maintainers and event hosters to rectify bugs and have silly events because i like gimmicks and events
