Probably the first movie to make me truly feel something it’s so good at tension

There were genuine moments where I felt overwhelmed and that I needed a moment

I don’t know how to describe it it was just great

(OST AND CHARACTER SPOILERS) ||Spot Holes 2 and Spot in general are so just terrifyingly… off. The fact that he manages to stand out in a movie where the styles are so incredibly distinct is just ufhfhhfhf and he is shabajsjns||

||Peter B Parker did not belong in this movie. His motivations, atmosphere, and story beats clash wildly at almost every point. If that's the narrative point, I think it's to the movie's detriment. He has really great emotional moments that deserve to be spotlighted (hehe spot) but they're drowned out by the ongoing action sequences. I feel like these scenes were somehow supposed to be in the third movie-- Miles intro, Gwen intro, and Peter B intro||

||I'll be real I said the first line just to prove a point, he has a place in this movie, but in the form he's taken I think he needed to be someone else||

||His reunion scene with Mayday-- cute! Great! But Miguel standing there ominously and threatningly saps away any joy on the reunion, and also Miles is NOT overjoyed to see him, reasonably so! And it hurts and makes the scene go by so slowly and awkwardly||

||"Hold the baby"... where to begin. Horrible timing, horrible pacing, music choice undercuts all of Peter's words, scene is used as a betrayal, Peter DOESN'T CARE AND KEEPS QUIPPING after clearly hurting Miles near irreparably... it was actually so awful on second viewing||

||And yeah, the scene with MJ straight up has to be spliced in from a different version of the film, it has no bearing on that scene or the movie or Peter's story as the movie currently runs||

Spiderverse had a rocky transition to 3D

||Yeah I didn’t really like him much. His story is already finished too, like compared to Miles having a new more personal foe with the Spot, Gwen’s struggle with her father and both having to deal with Miguel they have like genuine issues I can see taking a while to solve. It fees like B Parker was done in the first movie. His humor isn’t even good too, he just feels like a replacement of the gag side character spot was played out to be in the opening, except spot is. Y’know. While Peter is just a “hey this how I’m doing now but I’m still a main character so”||

But to Miles he’s tired of being told about what his story will be, and him believing he can make a change because letting someone die to succumb to an algorithm is also in the right. So it creates these two unwavering forces that aren’t wrong in what they believe in and that’s so cool. Miles is trying to like, surpass the typical spiderman story, but Miguel thinks this will break everything. Miles wants to tell his own story, not a Spiderman story.||
