It got delayed to tonight but it did finally arrive! I haven't transformed it or applied the upgrade kit parts to it yet but from what I've used of it so far I think it's incredible
It came with all the accessories except the Energon hand things but I really didn't care for them from looking at reviews so idrc about not having them. The listing was at a pretty good discount because of that so the figure itself + the upgrade kit in total was about $45
The sword was slightly bent though but I've heard that's a pretty common issue

Just finished setting up the Tank Mode (with the upgrade kit) and god some of the joints on my copy were so tight lol
To install the tank upgrade kit it's basically the same as you would normally transform the tank but skip the step where you fold the tank cockpit out since the kit is made to fit around Blitzwing's head

Jet (Flight-stand) Mode
I'm not going to lie, if this figure couldn't do this and it could only transform into the stock Jet mode I probably wouldn't have bought it, this flight-stand fan-mode absolutely saves it imo
If you're thinking about getting this figure please transform the jet like this lol it's so much better
You can adjust the angle of it by tilting the swords on the side, I also found that it's able to stand with just one sword connected so that's neat
To get it into Flight-stand mode you wanna transform it how you would normally for the jet, but instead of clicking the kibble in, you want to leave it hanging out in the robot mode backpack configuration then plug the swords into the sides of the shoulders. These are needed to keep the jet up in this mode because otherwise it'll just flop over
If you don't have the sword accessories you can just prop it up with something else lol

Overall I absolutely love this figure! Granted I bought it both with the knowledge of both the flight-stand fan-mode existing and the tank upgrade kit, but even without the kit I'd still highly recommend it. While I personally don't care for the tank mode's cockpit (or the excuse that it's "cartoon accurate" but that's a whole other thing lol) I know others who don't mind it. Apart from that I love the tank mode, especially how the tank turret moves. I'm aware that most blast effects don't work on it (aside from MPM Blackout apparently?) I personally don't own any blast effects anyways so it's not an issue for me personally, besides you can find a 3D-printable adapter for the tank barrel to make it support them. That stock jet mode is hard to defend though. The tank kibble/backpack from robot mode just sits at the bottom of the jet and it looks like its built like a burger lmao, again if the jet mode couldn't mistransform into a built-in flight-stand I don't think I would've bought it, even with the tank upgrade kit. But the robot mode is incredible and I absolutely love the look of it, the shoulders are a bit of a pain to work with but thanks to the transformation hinge for jet mode you can finagle it to get more posability out of it, so there's that at least.
TL;DR I think this figure is well worth it if you're willing to look past the tank mode cockpit/buy the upgrade kit for it and mistransform the jet mode to the flight-stand mode. The robot mode is incredible though and absolutely love the look of it, along with how the figure looks in general. This figure has it's issues but I think it's well worth it if you can find it for ~$45

Speaking of Ratchet: I mentioned back when I made my Shockwave redesign that I wanted him to be the Decepticon counterpart to Ratchet. For Ratchet himself I picture him being a very friendly and intelligent bot while also being a lot thinner/weaker than a majority of the Autobots. Though he comes in clutch by being able to use the roof of his Alt Mode as both a shield and a portable medkit (based off the jank of his G1 toy lmao but I think it's fun that he can do that)
Also while I lean more towards toy accuracy than cartoon accuracy since I'm redesigning G1 characters atm, Ratchet is not going to look like that lmao

Another thing I wanna bring up is the idea of making 'partsforming' an in-universe Cybertronian technology. I don't want to use as an excuse to have every single character "transform" by being taken apart like Lego KREO, so this idea is mainly for accessories like weaponry or armor (Ultra Magnus lol.) Essentially it'd work similar to the Mark 42 armor from MCU Iron Man where the user is able to remotely send the pieces to them and can choose which configuration they should be sent. For example with Ultra Magnus's armor-
He can choose to have it either send as his robot mode armor, his alt mode's car carrier, or a weaponry configuration that puts all the power of his suit into a hammer.
This would also allow for the G1 Optimus thing where his trailer just spawns in and spawns out whenever he goes into truck mode but actually in-universe

Oh yeah, another idea/concept I’ve been thinking of is how Triple Changers/Bots with multiple alt modes work.
In summary, they have modified transformation cogs that support storing data for multiple alt modes rather than just one, but they’re limited by the amount of space that they can fit that data into. Normally all that space is used up by the data of a single vehicle mode so the more modes you add, the less data there is for each mode. Which has various negative effects, the main ones are that each mode becomes less powerful and more brittle than they would be if they were used by a regular transformer.

My reasoning for why theres Autobot & Decepticon Triple Changers kinda bleeds into my take on Shockwave's backstory a little bit, but Shockwave felt that this power and the process on how to unleash that power should be known to all Cybertronians, so they can "evolve" (as he would put it.) Because of the drawback of each additional mode becoming weaker the more you add on, most felt that downside was just too severe to work with (especially in combat.) On the other hand, some would choose to accept this tradeoff and devote themselves to mastering the ability to quick-switch between modes.

I was watching a video on the history of Sixshot and that gave me the idea of:
Shockwave continuing to develop his Triple Changer/Mutliple Alt-Mode technology further in secret, even after joining the Decepticons. This would not be revealed until far too late, but not only had he gotten five alt modes onto a single Cybertronian, he had developed a method that allowed the data of each mode to be compressed & recompressed, bypassing the limitations of the previous versions by allowing each mode to function at its full capacity. However, Shockwave decided that his first test subject should logically be… himself. Modifying himself to become Sixshot: The only Transformer to have multiple Alt Modes keeping each at full strength. The Ultimate Cybertronian. (in my take)
Though to be clear: Shockwave/Sixshot wouldnt be the main villain of my Transformers story, (assuming I ever get off my ass and write it but acnfirncnfn-) though I would like to dedicate a short arc around that.

The 'Six Shot' that inspired this was the one from Transformers Energon, I don't want to make it a straight copy-paste of that design though (even if I wanted to I'd need to change the design a little bit to account for the additional Alt Modes) but (hopefully) it demonstrates the general idea of an upgraded Shockwave until I get off my ass and actually draw out the design lol
