||and even if you disagree, if they did that, most people would recognize most if not all of each location. like the market, hill, plaza, gym of driftveil city, with buildings or potentially hotels and the road to cold storage, or the little cathedral looking place and a path leading to clay tunnel depending on what version of it they went with, striaton's city tall buildings with a pokemon center near the entrance and a gym-restaurant next to it... frankly even sword and shield-style cities and routes would do the job - even if i think it's going backwards when compared to PLA or SV, it's a step up from BW and most definitely an improvement from just. making another game set in Unova with a grid-based map that aims to recreate the map as faithfully as possible||

||older gen pokemon maps have much more to them than just the fact theyre grid based. and while you may think the grids helped make them far more memorable or interesting not only is this a point in favor of remakes following the same design progression as new games do (seeing old familiar things again, now differently), but i also just think new pokemon games - swsh and sv mostly - really just dont have much going for them in terms of how much detail is sprinkled about in each area||
