Is that damaged even possible sent in a top loader?

Okay Altered is actually a pretty good game

Very different from every other TCG

Finally played Altered at Pax East. Interested, but my friends and I got there way too late to get into a starter deck tournament

We figured best decks for starter tournament were Purple, Red, and Green, with Blue able to hit the nuts at points.

Having played Altered more lately, the unique system is fairly balanced (can only run 3 in a deck, most uniques aren't that much better than their rare. Some are a lot better or worse tho) and the gameplay is actually really good

What was the controversy with altered again? I can’t remember but the game itself looks fine

The QR codes on the card look a little silly and people thought they were gonna use NFTs despite them saying plenty of times they weren't gonna

They're actually a super player friendly game (you can literally print to demand any card in the game, provided it's not someone else's unique)

How do you make uniques?

So you can either natually get them in packs, or there's a card that allows you to turn any card in your digital collection into a unique

It is definitely player friendly for the most part. Uniques are a slippery slope with how good a unique can get.
Competitively, my only gripe is that you need to own every card digitally and physically in order to compete. Kinda negates some of the point of the printing system.

Doesn't matter to me tho. There's nowhere to play within a 3 hour radius.

Hopefully all the red cards help counter Blue / White. From what I have seen in the pre-release regionals, that has been a dominant strategy

Like brought up earlier the main problem is Bandai’s saturation. My locals scene has like 3 people interested total because anyone else either stuck with one piece and isn’t planning on leaving it, or dropped one piece and stuck with Pokémon or magic

Digimon’s like nonexistent here, Union arena doesn’t move product, bss never had product

I want to give it a try, but I already play one piece and Pokémon as is, so i wouldn’t be that dedicated to it. And if I wanted to get more into a third card game, my friends from college are all getting into altered.

Probably my biggest gripe with Gundam rn is that you run put of cards decently fast and you often get to the point where you have a ton of resources that go unused

A lot of the design factors make that likely to hapoen like shields getting trashed if they don't have a trigger, the higher levels but lower cost allowing you to spam powerful unit for cheap at a point and the permanent damage making units destined to die

Hitting Sanji arguably hurts Marco more than it does UP Luffy

The leader generating 2 cards per turn already massively gatekeeps stuff even without the additional 9k body

For generic purple straw hat Giant is the best choice but I’m bias because it cripples the new Sanji leader hard too

And just for context I think the only 2 decks that buck this trend are Betty and RG Smoker

Which I play both so

Zoro runs over Betty tho

So it might be in angle to play Smoker + UP Sanji for 12 for me

Kuzan is also not that bad a play considering how cheap it will be and how consistent it is for BO1

And if you dont finish it, the lv 6 sinanju does it for you cause its unblockable removal

The rules are very simple

• You play with 1 deck, 1 resource deck, and 1 graveyard
• The field has five creature and five spell zones, which also work as a backrow for some cards that use that
• The player with 8 damage loses the game (unless the 8th card is an Exodia piece, which then does other things), or if a player plays the last Exodia piece they win the game. Deck out is an optional win condition that can be chosen to have or not. For shorter games it's better to use it, for longer games it might be better to reshuffle the Graveyard if you would draw from an empty deck
• You start with two resources each, your starting hand is six
• The starting player does not take another resource, but does draw a card
• Other than that, at the beginning of your turn, untap all your cards, take a resource, and draw a card
• Creatures cannot attack the turn they come into play
• We ignore mana costs, and apply it like this: Exodia pieces and cards that for their effect explicitly draw cards cost 1 mana, everything else costs 2
• Cards can only be played during your own turn, unless a card says explicitly they can be played during an opponents turn. They can be played at any point during your turn at sorcery speed (to make the game simpler)
• We ignore power / toughness, except for when something funny could happen, but that means a creature attacking another creature will defeat that creature (and will not die in return)
• Creatures can be attacked, but only if they are rested or they occupy a zone in the center column. The backrow cannot be attacked unless a card says they can, or if the backrow is in the center column.
• You can attack the opponent directly if the center column is not occupied by any creature.
• When a damage is dealt, you take the top card of the deck and place it face up into the damage zone. Damages can be turned face down ones as a one time resource.
• Exodia has a few additional rules: When you play an Exodia piece (for 1 resource), you look at the top card of the deck and you can choose to put it on the bottom of the deck, then you draw a card. Then, if this is the first Exodia card you played this turn, you place it face up into the Exodia zone. Otherwise it goes to the bottom of the deck.
• If a card would be put into a zone other than the Deck, hand, or Exodia zone, it goes to the bottom of the deck instead. If it would go into the Damage zone, if you haven't played an Exodia piece this turn, it goes into the Exodia zone, otherwise it goes to the bottom of the deck. This does not count towards the Exodia pieces played for the the player that hasn't taken damage.
• Exodia pieces can be destroyed etc just like other cards can, as if they were creatures. (Then above rules apply)

game is fun but definitely needs another set to flesh it out, but it feels more interesting to play than you'd expect rn

also because the game is so young the meta is super wide

b/w blockers is the "best" deck right now but you could realistically beat it with any deck

it just happens that b/w blockers can run 8 draw spells and also blockers are insane unless you're playing against green with breach (which is basically trample)

Asking because I have three oddities which I am wondering about:

1. Why are the spells for perfect guards completely absent
2. Why is Powers Converged also fully ignored
3. Why do we play 9 instead of 12 triggers?

cards can be played up to 4 copies now instead of 3

main phase 2 to make it less likely than late game a single guy gets summoned and just ends the game with 0 counterplay (now you can summon blockers in mp2)

ex symbols (the symbols that have a golden border on some cards) - you can use them in the trash for reduction

level system removed (all are lv1 for the purpose of playing them in eternal - with the old stuff) - now cards just have "if this has x cores on it, do y" as part of the eff text

soul magic - new gimmick on magic cards where you can use the soul core as the entire cost

MF is only good because of the Great Aurora (which destroys kaisa) and yi can do kinda everything

Viktor and darius beat Aurora though and Ahri/yas destroys aggro so it’s rock paper scissors rn

The gamefound was set for 50k euro. Gamefound funded within 10 minutes, just crossed 500k euro.

They sent an announcement out today that the plan was to, in total between gamefound and LGS direct sales, to hit 2.5 million euro or immediately pack it all up.
