the tachyon skill in particular

(but there's also another seventh one skill that seems generically pretty nice and could see play at some point)

it's really only useful due to the skill some decks use for it, that skill also makes it so that it always stay at the bottom of your deck until you use said skill during draw phase so no garnet worries.

Ok so:

Branded has a ton of tools it wants to run so whenever any concessions are made its done to open room to another card, it's pretty flexible in that regard

The core stuff is the following

3 tragedy, its the thing you want to discard off opening and fusing it off with theater or sending off BraFu can still give you plays if needed

2 aluber, its part of most of your lines but its searchable enough that you wont need the third one, you also need as much deck space as you can get either way

2 ad lib, same as aluber

2-3 opening, it's an extremely strong tool but oftentimes you'll want to cut the third copy for space

2 albaz, BraFu fodder, self explainatory

3 branded fusion, pretty much the reason to play the deck

1 theater, skill requirement

2 branded in red, its part of your endboard, going second, and your follow up, you wont need more than that but you also dont want less

1 each of dramaturge, comedy, mercourier, retribution, and lost, they all come as necessary depending on your hand and the matchup

0-1 main deck albion, it can come up as an extender that can dump retribution, personally it never came up for me but you could play it

Techs: most of your lines rely on branded fusion sending a light monster, we dont have any in engine targets current so you'll need to play a generic one for that, veiler and kaijus are exceptional this format so i would recommend those, nibiru less so but its still an option, if you want one with a gy effect there's trias hierarquica but it usually wont come up anyway

Alich malebranche of the burning abyss and shaddoll dragon are also used as brafu sends when going second, they're pretty solid to have as options

The deck was also historically pretty good at using droplet but with tachyon as common as it is i wouldnt recommend it

As for other techs stuff like droll, final bringer and imperm are also decent, if you want to play those and have the space they're cool

The extra deck is much more consolidated, you'll always want 1 masquarade, 2 albion, 1 lubellion, 1 brigrand, 1 mirrorjade, 1 quaeretis and 1 dragostapellia, the last spot is usually reserved to borreload furious dragon and starving venom fusion dragon, each have their use cases so its more of a personal choice

dlm will have past decks you can look at

for pvp you have to pack staples (relatively high powered magic/trap that is largely interchangable between decks which also centralizes deck design) or find really powerful techs to compensate

gameplan of silent magician is relatively linear approach of get out the smlv8

no one really wants to climb with it

you mostly have to concentrate on defending her from monster effects and traps

and whatever that can raise their attack to 4000 or more (a lot of decks)

Sometimes we might want to run Negate Attack instead if you really want.

It's just a matter of choice between the Limit 1s or other Legend Spells you want to run instead.

in duel links... the quality of legend spells is just really low in general, there's no real competition unless the fact that it's limited 1 on the banlist causes a conflict, although among the lim 1 legends, the aggro power of pog is generally preferred to the defensive power of compulse (and then negate attack is on the list for some reason?? it's not even in the equation)

sword & shield isnt anything, its really unreliable and matchup-dependent

irl, there's a lot more competition to pog, and although it existed for a very long time it wasn't considered very good for most of that time, its surge in popularity is a relatively recent development

other options include giant trunade and monster reborn, and historically graceful charity was the preferred card draw legend over pog

but card quantity is very valuable in modern rush, and aggressive decks have powerful engines that already have enough in-theme removal and aggression that they don't really need it out of their legend, and all their cards contribute to killing the opponent with a lot less cards that you want to discard, so just having more of your engine in hand matters

especially when decks have in-theme card selection like elemental circulation or sparkhearts familiar, it becomes pot of greed's +1 that's the unique effect that's harder for them to do otherwise
