Ya the auction house rarely has each of the special balls. Its pretty rare and reseting for them is a hassle too. The Beast Ball os only available as a reward from the Ace Academy Tournament randomly at a pretty low drop rate. If you have a turbo controller, there are set up you can do to auto farm the AAT for money and the Beast Balls.
Also also, if you ever need spares of certain ball types you can just use a genning trade server to trade you a gend mon with the ball, take the ball then release the mon.
Also at the auction house, the special balls go for anywhere from 200k-400k
So its a decently sized money pit
