This week, started playing Grand Colosseum
So far got up to Mt Battle.
The good:
- Better pokemon selection in general, inclduing some type changes to existing pokemon
- Way better movesets for Pokemon in general
- Some of the out-of-gen move add-ons make a lot more pokemon viable to use
- Custom choices for certain Shadow Pokemon encounters (Which set of starters, which Shadow Pokemon Boss Battles have)
- Lowered the Purification requirements of early pokemon to make it way less grindy
- Bosses so far actually have OK buffs compared to their original counterparts. I really liked how they modified Rogue Cail in particular
The bad:
- They made it possible to basically insta-lose the first Shadow Pokemon encounter by buffing the Shadow Makuhita into a Shadow Furret. Furret moved first, one-shot Espeon turn 1 with a Crit and I couldn't win 3-v-1 at that point. I had to redo the battle, and the next time I did the battle Furret was the last pokemon instead of 1 of the first.

Honestly, for awhile I kept being concerned for trainers whom I kept defeating, like uh, I guess Serena/Calem in XY
They seem very distraught on you defeating them a lot, especially considering how you winning meant they were not able to obtain the right and privelage to a Key Stone needed for Mega Evolution.
...And yet in the end they still considered you a worthy opponent, and not someone to really envy. Which, I guess was alright with! But you definitely would feel bad doing this.
And it turns out they ended up redoubling their training and finally were able to get that Key Stone for mega evolution, so it sorta worked out, but it took a good long while

Making sure that it doesn't take strong physical hits is the same thing as saying nothing cuz this applies to any mon's weakness
And this is not even mentioning how absolute garbage it is in randomizers or in blind runs
