Anyway @sinful frost There is another reason why using winrate to balance is bad, beyond the fact that you want to balance for the best players, and thats ... that you make everyone unhappy
Because at the top now difficult champs dominate, making it so there is no reason to main anyone else. At the start, those who first-time a difficult champ still lose way more, and all you really accomplished, beyond making onetricks of hard champs break the game, is you moved the one brief point where the performance of a player on an easy and hard champion matches (Which is somewhere between the start and the top) move slightly to the left, which ... changes nothing
The other way to balance is to just look at the top, the "peak" of the mastery curve, the place where players have already learned their champs, and balance around that. That fixes all of the problems we had caused by winrate, makes the balance best where it matters the most and ... really doesnt have any notable downsides
Sure, the players who first time a hard champ lose more ... but theyre gonna be losing most of the time any way you balance. Maybe some hard champs could become marginally less popular ... but champs like Akali and Sylas suggest thats not even the case

Lux can probably cast E more frequently than Ekko can, but you could also make the argument that ashe gives better vision than Lux, at which point were just moving on from one champs strengths to the next
