If there were a feature that could make the game more collaborative, it would definitely be the addition of "Crews." These could act as Clans for players and could also prove useful in collaborative/competitive settings for those who want to challenge other Crews. As for the "Story" issue, I would add Factions for NPCs so that every choice you make in the game could affect the progression of the plot itself, as well as dialogue screens and trades. (Example: if you have a VERY low affinity with a certain faction, such as "merchants," they might sell you items at a higher price than the original value or value your items at a lower price than the original itself or even trying to avoid helping you.) ⛵ 🔥

pretty sure they already have plans for factions. Crew is a nice idea as long as you don't get punished for NOT being in one

I agree with this, being punished for inactivity can be annoying at best the game itself could put you in a mode similar to GTA Online's passive instead of kicking you out of the session. 🤝
