Here's a quick mock-up I said I would do, Ian. This is the simplest way I can think to convey the minimal amount of financial info players would want. I do like the use of green and red for +/- $ amounts. Merchandise could be all-inclusive, or you could break it down by category (as displayed on the left).

Works for me, very easy to read. Only thing that stands out is maybe Bonuses amount should be in green. (Total profit might have to switch between green and red as well if you want you color consistency you've mentioned previously.)
