Severity: High - multiple screens are difficult or frustrating to operate with a controller after the latest update

Summary:
After the recent update, controller focus handling across several menus is broken or significantly degraded. Focus jumps unexpectedly, scroll position resets, and the B button behaves inconsistently. Worth flagging: all of the issues below were hit in a single session, on Quick speed, during the very first era. If this many controller problems surface that early, it strongly suggests the patch wasn't tested on Xbox - please prioritize controller/console QA before shipping UI changes.

Game Setup

  1. Network game - Map Type selection: When selecting a map type that exposes the new "Water Level" field, the UI jumps and the scroll position shifts away from the current selection.

Trade Screen

  1. B button inconsistency (resource selection): When selecting a resource, the B button sometimes fails to cancel the selection state. Instead of cancelling the current pick, it exits the entire screen.

  2. Editing a city: When editing a city's resources, if I accidentally pick the wrong resource, pressing B not only cancels the resource but also exits edit mode entirely. Cancel should only undo the resource pick, not back out of editing.

  3. Scroll resets on selection: The new trade screen is very hard to navigate with a controller. Example: with ~20 cities, selecting a resource from the bottom-most city causes the scroll to jump, forcing me to scroll all the way down again. This scroll-reset behavior appears in many places.

  4. Trade flow regression: Previously I could press A to pick up a resource and A again to place it - a fast, simple flow. The new flow has too many extra steps and friction.
