Hello everyone,
while i was playing Civ VII, I remembered Civ VI, Gathering storm. I feel like nature is not really worked through in Civ games, so here are some ideas that could make nature more interactive and also essential.
-
Wild-life Preserves
Bassically instead of only using animal resources for profit, you can create a natural preserve on the resource. (eg. Instead of improving an Ivory resource for "exploitation" of the animals, you can instead create a preserve there, bassically protecting the wildlife in it, and also spreads this resource through the continent as a narrative event : "Releasing into the wild") Farming the resource will slowly deplete the animal resource leading to it being deleted from the map. If all resources are depleted, the animal is considered extinct. Preserving also gives extra culture and tourism. -
Climate
As in gathering storm, emmisions were crucial in making the simulation even better. By producing CO2 in the modern age and also exploration age, polar ice may start melting and flood coasts. Also, the more forest are chopped, the more global temperature gets affected. Also I would like tile pollution in later eras (eg. plastics on ocean tiles, or killing animal resources) -
Natural parks
Oh my, this was such a great feature.
How i would like natural parks :
Naturalist, unlocked with animal preserves, is a civilian unit that has 3 charges, can create natural park tiles and can create wildlife preserves.
-
Natural park tiles must have atleast 4 tiles to be considered a natural park, they must be touching and have a high appeal.
-
Naturalists can walk on mountains and impassable tiles altogether.
-
Natural parks give culture and tourism and can house wildlife after being released.
- Zoos
A small function, however could impact the game widely.
released animals can be put there and they gradually give more tourism, science and currency.
I feel like these additions would make Civ VII experience better
