#Certain combinations of buildings should create specific quarters with their own bonus

I think there should be specific bonuses for placing certain combos or building type in the same district. For instance, if you build two science building in the same district, you could create a Campus Quarter, which could have an overall science boost, but building two gold buildings could make the commercial hub for extra gold.

You could also make bonus’s age specific. For example, in the antiquity age a campus quarter provides you one extra codex slot, but in the exploitation age, it could give a default boost to specialist yields in that city

Since there is some overlap with adjacency bonuses (e.g. science and production both get a bonus from resources) I think this would add a layer of complexity in your urban planning. E.g. when you place a library, you have to weigh whether it’s worth building a barracks on the same tile, or leaving that district untouched until you unlock Academy for the campus boost.

I like the introduction of quarters, but I feel like the adjacency bonus system still needs more fleshing out. Currently, the only specific types of quarters we the ones you get when you build both unique buildings in the same district.

I think that having quarters for every combination of building classes is too much, but I would love it if there was just like 2 special ones added, like “Warehouse Quarter” for two warehouse buildings, if only to make it impossible to assign specialists to it lol.

Maybe have the Warehouse Quarter give a small “surviving sieges” benefit, like a bonus to wall health regeneration or bonus unit production rate while the walls are damaged.

Yeah the number of special quarters could get unyielding pretty quick! I think one for each yield type plus warehouse wouldn’t be too bad though. And then maybe another one or two for water structures
