Exploration age feels like a back and forth of convert your cities, they convert you back, convert your cities, they convert you back and over and over again. This isn't the issue, although it may get old quickly. The issue is, it means I keep needing new missionaries. When I'm in the UI for production in my city, it would be good to see the religious state of the city somewhere easy in that screen, so I can keel clicking from town to town to town, seeing my religious status and knowing I need to purchase a missionary.
#Religion Need to be clearer in the City Production UI

This is extra annoying, as a cities religious status can be hidden behind a units icon if you have it garrisoned there.
Also, feels weird that there is no restrictions on how rabidly you can covert cities back and forth, you can have 2 missionaries just spamming a city non stop for as long as they have charges remaining.
Agree, I have just given up on keeping my cities from being converted as every. single. time. a random missionary from some other civ walks over and just takes it back.
The mechanics don’t seem clear, once I convert someone or they convert me, they/I get the relic so what is the point in trying to keep turning it back?
I could be wrong but once you convert a foreign player and get the relic, move on. Then the only reason I see for converting your own civ is for defense purposes to prevent a civ from getting a relic? That seemed like too much work and difficult. You can basically ignore converting your own cities from what I understand
(Edit) I guess there is the bonuses you get for the foreign settlements following so still try to keep those but still no motivation to convert your own settlements
didnt even realize i was getting relics when converting cities...
Depending on your religious believes, you might want to keep them in you religious believes (+4 for every foreign settlement following your religion or you need only the relicts, then you might want to rush forward.
But in first case it it extremely tiring to keep it up. The mechanics in Civ6 were more stable and plannable. Right now it is a pure ressource battle, of how many missionaries I can build in the same time as the others. AND there is no defence option at all afaict.
I discovered a bug in Ecclesiastic, not granting the promissed relics, if I did not misunderstand the text, though it might be, as I am German and the translation might be a bit misleading.
