I appreciate you providing an avenue for direct player feedback, and I want to say thank you to Sid and everyone for your work on Civilization VII. As a long-time fan of the series, I admire the creativity and dedication that go into developing such a beloved game. I’d like to offer some constructive feedback in hopes of enhancing the player experience.
First, I would appreciate the option to rename cities, as this would give players a deeper sense of customization and connection to their civilizations. Additionally, the current design of mixing leaders with mismatched civilizations through different eras detracts from a sense of uniqueness and identity. Instead of feeling like I’m crafting a distinct and cohesive civilization, it often feels generic and blended.
I've also encountered a bug where leader portraits are incorrectly matched to the wrong civilization flags in the UI, which can cause confusion during gameplay. Furthermore, the game’s interface feels minimal and rudimentary, lacking the polish and refinement that players have come to expect from the franchise. It often comes across as unfinished, detracting from the overall immersion. On a broader note, seeing launch day DLC while experiencing bugs at release gives the impression that the focus may have been misplaced, prioritizing add-ons over polish. Lastly, I found the $129.99 price tag for the Founder's Edition to be excessive, especially given the issues at launch and the overall value provided.
I share this feedback out of a passion for the series and a desire to see future updates make the game truly shine. Thank you for considering my input, and I look forward to the improvements ahead.
