Cheating is more like Aimbot, atleast in my experience.

There are no rules like "No teaming", is it awful? Yeah... Is it fair? No... Is it Allowed? Yes. Try proximity chatting ppl to team up or don't open keys without killing atleast 2 to 3 teams. Not defending the teaming, but I think marking it as "cheating" is a bit too much.

Walling is a bigger issue than this imo.

Talking about cheaters in ranked... I was very suspicious of this guy when he wasn't using mic nor going to the usual spawn checks (we spawned north relay). He wanted to go to overflow without saying anything. And the behaviour of these guys were weird af. No mic and only using text apparently... but then he said in mic "shut up and just follow me". They said they were solo fills...

I was even more suspicious after he wiped the first team when as we were getting downed and finished because he was moving like he knew exactly where they were. Then on the 2nd team... you can see the clip.

He revived us after looting all of the 6 bodies. Yet the other guy ended up with almost twice as his loot inventory value ? I was giving him the benefit of doubt until I saw his steam profile as well.

Marathon has to solve the cheaters problem ffs.

I just had the funniest and closest round of marathon trio lobbies ever lol. Spawned in with an m77 and silenced magnum with green shield and my team had free kits. Only one of them had a mic and it sounded like a 40-50 year old guy with a Spanish accent that kept coughing and you could hear dogs barking in the background. We start at overflow and go up to south relay and meet a team of green and blue shields there that take out my teammates. I survived with like a quarter health after using all my meds to down two of the other team. I sneak away crouched to the corner of the map there as two other teams come in. One extracts and the other fights the team already there. I managed to sneak along south relay through the main building, all the way around the south side and then up to res my teammates. Then we booked it as the remaining team started firing at us. Somehow through that we got through station then extracted at outpost, all of us with 25% health and to top it all off a rook started firing at us right as exfil started lol. Our last screen was seeing him downed trying to crawl to the departed extract. All that with the 40-50 year old guy laughing and telling me I could do it the whole time lol.

The idea is that the WSTR is for close range extremely fast takedowns, and the misriah is a teamfight powerhouse with slightly more range, but this is currently not the case because the WSTR is capable of taking down 2 people in one mag with stack overflow/carnage cartridge stacking. In addition, slick mag is designed for the misriah so that it can challenge the WSTR in single target eliminations but unfortunately the WSTR is still too good because it is much more common and not dependent on a single mod to be functional (stack overflow enhances the gun but is not necessary for it to work)

So basically in my opinion there isn't a problem with how fast your teammate got erased but there is a general problem with how unhealthy the WSTR is because it steps on the misriah's toes in teamfight scenarios, making the average engagement unfun. (see sponsored dire marsh fights for how differently they play when everyone isnt shotgun jousting)

The WSTR has comedic range, but the misriah has more range than you think.
A max range WSTR is about 12 m, while a grey misriah is 12 meters at base

If you can manage to keep a distance with a misriah you can probably win but good luck when against destroyers or thieves

for any gun in the game if mistakes are worthless if someone has a better option in stash than you then the game isn't in a good spot. a huge part of the fantasy is being able to punch up and take kills on someone if you outsmart and outplay them. if its able to do that against my teammate there is almost nothing it can lose against within range

and i really like the weird interactions and stuff that mods like stack and carn cart can create (they shouldnt stack for wstr though like wtf). and i dont think the problem goes away if either goes away

having a game where the avg ttk is an entire second and having a gun that for that little effort with zero telegraphing or commitment can kill you in 300? thats nuts. its no wonder why the fights in endgame are either mid range pokefests or 3 sets of shotgun jousts. if the wstr got swapped rarity wise with the misriah (also awful idea, i'd argue in a lot of ways misriah is actually better than the WSTR), people would literally just drop their misriahs for the WSTR and we'd be very close to where we started

To be honest, that low TTK is necessary for competitive 1v3s to be possible, and delete machines are kind of a necessary evil to maintain that possibility. The problem isnt that that its possible, the problem is that it has too much forgiveness for mistakes in scenarios such as those. WSTR's forgiveness comes in range and overflow stacking, which I do admit maybe it needs a bit of a range nerf. Also, do not swap misriah and WSTR rarities. The WSTR should only get rarer, the misriah should not get more common. The entire "shotgun" category is based around the idea of high burst damage, so the philosophy should be that they are hard to get and strong to use, not easy to get and "okay" to use

2 takes on that: first 100% agree fast potential TTKs are good. the main issue for me isn't that its fast, its that its so blazingly fast its hard to do anything against even if you have perfect circumstances, an ambush, etc etc. the guns ROF could be cut by an entire third and it would still be in the top 5 fastest killing guns vs purple. Any game with TTK subversions need to be careful that the risk, planning and skill need are enough effort to make killing in 1 shot justified. Right now, the guns are still balanced like they spawn in 2 minute timers on set places on the map that everyone can fight over.

second: having a gun like the WSTR that is cheap, preforms relatively armor agnostic, and can punch up w/ significant risk is super good for the game. I don't have an issue with where the WSTR is from an economic standpoint at all (althought if it gets nerfed I'd argue it should probably be cheaper). But there should be reasons to graduate from said gun, and ways to beat out that gun. WSTR currently has neither. And IMO, it'd be far more important to focus on its power rather than its rarity

it should ideally be like the double barrel from rust, romero from hunt or bulldog from the cycle. easy to obtain, useful in the right circumstances, and will kill people who disrespect it or get ambushed. but still beatable by better players and still has a reason to upgrade past it

until wipe any economic nerfs are preformative anyway IMO. everyone has a stash of the strong items

Again, it appears to me that your issue is simply that everyone has the gun, and it infects every fight, turning what would be an ordinarily winning situation into an unwinnable one simply because you dont have the common solve everything tool. I want them to completely remove the shotgun from arachne's shop, forcing players to either get lucky out in the wild, or actually use their other guns for once. mips weapons are supposed to be rare (ignore the longshot that thing got murdered), and equivalently reward those that have it with noticable power improvements

i just purely disagree that both the wstr needs to kill this quickly to fufill its role as the "delete within range too" and also that there shouldn't be a cheap shotgun. weapons that act like equalizers and reasons for geared teams to still respect players on poor kits are both insanely important for overall game health. theres a reason why most extraction shooters and even the survival games that came before it has had a "grub gun" like that. (rust with the eoka and db, hunt with romero, the cycle with bulldog and bolt action, tarkov with the mp-153 and mosin, arc with the ferro, etc etc until the end of time)

theres a lot more granularity here with the balance of the gun itself within its role. and i definitely think removing options from early game players already struggling to catch up is a bad idea

Yeah fair, its a shame how shields and a lack of team damage makes pushing easy for geared players. Sure grenades work but you dont always have enough.

The low TTk does help, But no oneshot headshots is interesting. Sure snipers can but thats not entirely the same.

Problem isnt even money, I cant get the EMP cores for triage most of the time, which is my fav build even if it aint remotely optimal. I enjoy using the V66, V22 or V11 with emp to regen and destroy npc. and players melt too
