This "illustrates" my current workflow. I start with a quick doodle going off of the client's description and referrences, then I practice the detail and proportions, then the rendering. I record the rendering down then find a pose that will work with the proportions. Do another messy sketch then put to use the details I've settled on. And then voila.

Yeah I got a friend who I play other games with all the time and he's unsure about putting 40 big ones towards a game that on the outside at least looks like it's teetering on the edge. I'd really like to get him into Marathon but gifting him a game he doesn't share the same enthusiasm as I do is an underhanded way of me forcing him to play a game he doesn't want to.
