A little late to this but I was thinking about this exact topic recently. I think it didn't really sell the tone of the game that well at least in how it was shot? It reminds me more of what you would see from a trailer for something in Destiny? What we've been seeing more recently feels a lot more tonal consistent with the game they want Marathon to be.

...How did I never make this connection until now? I've realized why marathons art is so familiar to me. I used to play a game on the PSP called wipeout pulse, and it was, and still is, one of the most fun racing games I've ever experienced. And it's art direction, while being a slightly different take on the bright and colorful sci fi look, is pretty similar honestly. The craft designs specifically really feel like they could exist in Marathon and not feel even slightly out of place
Anyone getting similar vibes? or am I crazy :(

You're not crazy, I feel like the general ideas of the art in Marathon has been around for sometime but I feel like Bungie has done a good job of modernizing it and giving it a lot more vigor. Even adding some horror vibes which works really well

Rapier is my preffered speed. Pulse is regarded as a pretty brutal experience at times, but it only gets more fun the better at the game you get
