No, objectives in Helldivers have to be completed to extract and extracting is optional if the main objectives have been completed. In R6 extraction, you either extract or lose that operator in an MIA status where you then have to launch a mission to rescue them

it's basically the same discussion that's been going since dark souls 1, the fights are very hard so you feel legitimately accomplished in beating them. but there's also ways of making them easier and always have been. summons, items, etc.

I think the main issue from is staring down now is that the players have gotten better as they've played the games more, so they need to keep making things more difficult in each game to keep up with them. with no actual difficulty options there IS gonna come a point where this shit gets stupid
