I've been doing a casual retelling of the whole series for a few days now, just summarizing in my own words, as the people of general chat (mostly scooby and like 3 others who pay attention) need to learn their history.

After performing some further tasks to dismantle the Pfhor's assault on Lh'owon, Durandal reveals to Recon 54 that the Pfhor actually beat Durandal to Lh'owon, by some years. Someone must've told them about the rumored weapon on Lh'owon, but who? Who would know Durandal and the S'pht would be searching for such a thing? What meddling spying thorn-in-the-side could have possibly known that they had even left?

Tycho. Durandal theorizes that when the Pfhor returned to Tau Ceti, and return they did, only 3 months after the marathon was "saved" (and it turned out the Pfhor ships we had conquered were indeed only a scouting crew), Tycho pleaded for his life by telling them of Durandal's plans. They knew, of course, where the S'pht home planet was. By Pfhor Empire law, they owned it, after all. They would've headed for it immediately. They could have been there, searching, for no less than 15 years.

Before sending Recon 54 to figure out what they knew, Durandal took time to level with them, knowing they aren't on good terms after...everything. I'll simply quote this monologue in full, because it's very good, and gets into Durandal's mindset and care for humanity very well.

I'm not certain whether you trust me or
not. Do you wonder why I helped the
colonists on Tau Ceti drive off the Pfhor,
or why I'm now helping the S'pht? The way
I push you around, maybe you think I'm only
looking out for myself.

Whether you realize it or not, I led the
Pfhor to Tau Ceti with a long-range message
laser. I wanted their ship. I wanted
their technology.

I wanted freedom.

I was directly responsible for the deaths
of all twenty-four thousand colonists when
the Pfhor returned and sacked the planet.

Yet I cannot think of any better way I
could have served humanity: Tau Ceti's
sacrifice bought time for Earth, which the
Pfhor are even now planning to invade.
What would have happened if the Pfhor had
found Sol first?. By Pfhor standards, Earth
is a poorly defended low technology world,
populated by billions of potential slaves.

Our means are the same, though we pursue
different ends. I can think of no better
way to help you and the humans you care so
much for than by distracting the Pfhor with
a war against the S'pht.

When the inevitable struggle between Earth

There is a myth, preserved through a thousand years of slavery, that when the Pfhor came one of their 11 clans refused to fight, and instead simply...left. In this past thousand years, those free S'pht have no doubt been growing, evolving, becoming powerful. The "Weapon" was no weapon at all, in theory, it could be a method of contacting this lost clan, and summoning their thousand years of technological growth to dominate the battlefield.

The Pfhor seem to know nothing of this. They are of no use. Better yet, their morale is terrible. Their worst officers have been sent to Lh'owon for nine years now, this patrol is the greatest disgrace in their military because of how uneventful and awful securing a backwater planet like this is. As durandal put it:

They have no idea how important this world is.

Bungie always had this dumb shit mentality of 'players need to aim for the head' so we will make the animations feel very static in FPS while in destiny 2 they have some of the coolest ability 3rd person animations, they think the eyes cant adapt or something so the sanitize everything to an extent. Even in marathon the first person animations look high quality but very static, very small model motion

I personally am a very big fan of titan/apex style of first person animations, it feels like everything has its own personality

Unique skins pose no issue, most people wont even take to account what other skins the enemy has and will start blasting anyway, as said, a unique movement animation solves most issues, like destroyer having a brute movement type of animation
