the problem with mobile gaming is that it has basically no archival systems or long-term support for a lot of games

stuff like the apple app store regularly requires developers to totally overhaul their games to keep up with iOS updates and if they don't, their app gets delisted from the store, meaning any games that don't have constant dev support will just vanish without a trace

happened to one of my favorite games

on the other hand there's also zero oversight for what devs do with their game (obviously) so there's stuff like the developer Gameloft completely changing how their games work in updates a few years after they're released to milk as much money out of any remaining players as possible, to the point where the gameplay loop will become totally unrecognizeable

with third person, especially in a game that allows cooperation as much as arc, being able to establish view of a player before they see you then leaves it up to you whether you rat or try to make contact by greeting them, and if they just hear your voice they're gonna be less startled as well

idk either way i think it works, 90% of extraction shooters are first person so it's not like you don't have other options and arc being third person has been arguably more successful than many of them, so clearly it's not a bad choice
