Fishing felt terrible, the game literally did everything for you. Add a mini game or something to it.

I personally not a fan of fishing in most MMOs Its one of my least very gathering methods. I've done New World, Throne and Liberty and FFXIV.
New world and Throne both had mini games
FFXIV was more of just click button and the rest of the skills were to active buffs or effects before casting your line.
If they add a mini game, I hope they add sunken treasure. New world had it with the random chest you can fish out. Throne with its small and large sacks. Its made fishing feel more worth doing.
