📝 Chrono Odyssey – Closed Beta Feedback (PC – 14h Playtime)

System specs:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHz
Settings: Ultra/High

🔧 Performance & Optimization

Despite using high-end hardware, performance was unstable throughout the beta.

Severe frame drops occurred frequently, especially in crowded towns and during cutscenes.

The game appears to suffer from poor optimization, even on top-tier PCs.

Lighting bugs were very noticeable — terrain around characters flickers unnaturally between dark and light in an immersion-breaking way.

🖼️ Visuals

The graphics are impressive overall, but significantly different from what was shown in pre-release trailers.

Some lighting inconsistencies and overly bright effects diminish the visual fidelity.

Certain skill effects (e.g., Berserker abilities) feel excessively bright, almost blinding during combat.

⚔️ Combat System

Combat is generally satisfying and fluid, but noticeable input delay impacts responsiveness.

Character sometimes attacks in the wrong direction or moves unpredictably during fights.

Dodging feels inconsistent — even when visibly outside enemy range, players sometimes take damage with no clear hit feedback.

🕹️ Character Movement

Character movement lacks weight and grounding — it often feels like the character is sliding on ice rather than walking.

Animations (especially running, crouching, crawling, vaulting) are stiff or unnatural and sometimes trigger unintentionally.

There is no visible connection between the character and the terrain — a major visual and immersion flaw.

📊 UI & Clarity

The UI is functional but lacks polish and clarity.

Fonts (especially numbers) are difficult to read, and overall layout could be more intuitive.

Text and icons often feel too small or lack contrast.

🧱 Class & Abilities (Berserker)

Berserker feels very strong — possibly overpowered compared to other classes based on player feedback.

Abilities are visually appealing but contribute to visual clutter and excessive brightness in crowded fights.

🌌 Worldbuilding & Atmosphere

The dark fantasy tone is a strong point — the world feels moody and atmospheric.

However, the story is quite generic so far — the “mysterious time device” trope feels cliché and uninspired.

🐛 Bugs Encountered

Characters getting stuck on invisible walls.

Inconsistent gathering — sometimes it’s hard to find a valid position to start the gathering animation.

Clunky interactions with chests, downed players, and loot — the "Press E" prompt often fails, requiring repeated attempts from different angles.

Several animation issues (movement transitions, interactions) lack polish and feel broken at times.

✅ What I Liked

The atmosphere, visual style, and general world design.

Core combat mechanics are promising.

Class design and skill effects are enjoyable.

A lot of potential if technical issues are addressed.

❌ What Needs Improvement

Optimization and performance.

Input responsiveness and movement precision.

Combat hit registration and dodging accuracy.

Animation quality and movement realism.

UI clarity and legibility.

Less predictable, more original story beats.

Thank you for the opportunity to test the beta. I truly believe Chrono Odyssey has potential — but technical polish, combat responsiveness, and presentation must be prioritized to reach the quality level this game deserves.
