How to best use Barbed Shot

Guys, I am trying to improve my playing. I have a Frenzy/Bestial Wrath tracker that I follow. My question is about how to use Barbed on multiple targets, for example on Council in Vault.

If I use it on my target and I have , lets say 5 seconds left on it, I assume I should add it to another target. Is it a dps loss to tab to another of the bosses and use it, or am I better using a mouse over macro? And how many targets should I assume I can get Barbed up on? Is it super important to keep it up on the main target or is it ok to just have it up on any target, so long as it is up somewhere.

I have done google searches and I really can't find a good answer, so, I am posting here. Thanks in advance for any help.

You want all targets to die at a similar time. Three stacks is the most important thing and if you are okay to mouse over and multi dot them then just do it and try to keep three stacks.

Yes, our RL calls out to switch targets when one is getting much lower in health than the others. But, reading between the lines on your reply, I shouldn't tab target between them to get Barbed up on more than one?

And, Mudbro, another question: is it a dps loss to just keep Barbed up on the main target almost exclusively, unless I have lots of time to put it on a second target?

It's not a dps loss as long as you keep up three stacks. It may be less dps to your current target but seemings you are focusing it it shouldn't be noticable. I use a mouse over macro for barbshot not been lucky with the bow yet tho. Spreading barb will be a dps gain and more so after the buffs
